  1. But won't that use twice the plastic bags to store it in the garage?

  2. IMO it doesn't matter if there are the same corps at every venue. It's the feel of the brass sound as I sit in the stands that would make me attend. That sound that goes up and down your spine as you watch all the great visuals. I have been on corps show tours before where it was the same corps. One corps suddenly comes out and blows everyone away because they are so "on" that night. At another venue it's another corps turn.

  3. https://madisonscouts.org/2021/05/madison-scouts-present-between-the-lines/ The Madison Scouts are proud to present their 2021 production titled Between the Lines, a diverse array of classical melodies infused with the Latin Jazz styles of Havana, Mexico City, and Barcelona. The production features Beethoven’s Für Elise, Louis Moreau Gottschalk’s Souvenirs & Andalousie, and the traditional Malagueña Salerosa. Between The Lines draws its inspiration from the beginnings of Latin Jazz with its foray into Afro-Cuban rhythms, a hybrid of musical styles that flourished, between the lines, culturally. In this production, the Madison Scouts add the intensity of Latin rhythms and stylings into classical European symphonic pieces. Madison Scouts composer and arranger Daniel Montoya Jr. crafts well-known classical melodies with passionate, hypnotic Latin Jazz influences. He also draws inspiration from pieces like Asturias (Leyenda) by Isaac Albéniz and Caprice No. 24 by Niccoló Paganini. Montoya’s hidden gem is the use of the Mexican folk standard Malagueña Salerosa. “Our goal is to transform the field into a grand musical staff adorned with hints of Havana architecture, a nod to both the bound structure in which music exists as well as the facade and flavor of our Latin inspirations,” says Program Coordinator Jason Robb. “The ensemble flourishes between the lines of established classical literature while the vibrancy of Latin Jazz emerges and ultimately changes our long appreciation for the original material. Fans will get to experience a conversation musically between the two vastly different ideas, as well as a visual progression that merges into a harmonious celebration.” The Madison Scouts will begin their season with a parade and standstill performance in Cedarburg, Wisconsin on Sunday, July 4th. A full dress rehearsal will be held in Eau Claire, Wisconsin on Saturday, July 24th in conjunction with a live stream fundraising campaign. The Scouts will then participate in the following Midwest Combine and DCI Celebration Events: July 30 – La Crosse, WI July 31 – Madison, WI August 1 – Dubuque, IA August 6 – DeKalb, IL August 7 – Lisle, IL August 8 – Cedarburg, WI August 10 – Marion, IN August 12-14 – Indianapolis, IN Tickets for these events will be available for purchase starting June 14th at www.DCI.org

  4. and to think I worry when I put the old snowblower gas in the tank. (Have battery powered lawn mower so I don’t rip my shoulder up anymore with the pull cord)

  6. yeah, i dont remember all of the specifics, i just remember hearing in the stands at prelims the feed went black. as the day went on coffee pot details came out. but when you run your world championships in the at best 50th best high school stadium in PA, stupid #### happens. still waiting for the refund for the "premium" parking ticket i paid for in prelims when i was told there was no room in the premium section and parked way out in a field and forced to walk that big ### hill. sure the drive to Williamsport is perfect for a day trip, but if they want the circuit to thrive and grow, thats not the venue to do it in. you get what you don't pay for my only real gripe with Box5 was at Scranton in 19, since i am Mr. punctual i ordered tickets the day they went on sale and had top row 50 yard line seats, and their camera was right behind me, which meant any time i stood up i apparently was in their cameras way. so move your camera a few feet higher...there was other ways to do it. demanding a spectator not stand up all show is kinda rude. at my size sitting on my ### and never moving for 8 corps is a huge ### pain, and it's not my fault...i paid for the best seat in the house. other than that, no issue with Box 5.

  7. Denso parts are also used in BMW cars, for ex. air conditioner compressor and alternator.

  8. I've been to the theaters and I've seen no planned Fathom Events of any kind in the previews other than movie trailers. I think theater chains just want people back to watch any movies.

  9. Lol I can dig it.... Part of my job was trying to “break” systems before release. “Hey if I do this, it crashes”. ”You’re not supposed to do that” ”Yeah but I CAN do it. If I can do it, eventually some user will do it. Do you wanna fix it now or wait for something to hit the fan”. ”grumble, grumble...”

  10. May well be true (for Indy as well). But the decision point for ticket sales will be before August. And this will (by definition) require a decision: Does DCI (or show sponsor) sell 25%, 50%, 100% or what? If they sell 50%, but restrictions are lifted by time of show do they sell the (previously empty for social distancing) seats that are in-between the sold seats at the gate? Or do they sell 100% & hope that there are no restrictions come show time (& what happens if there ARE restrictions)? Or do they just wait until show date & sell everything as general admission based on requirements in place at time of show (best seats I ever had were general admission for DCI Midwest prelims at Whitewater in 1980s). But how many fans will show up without a guaranteed seat?

  12. https://globalnews.ca/news/7900737/bc-first-nation-childrens-bodies-kamloops-residential-school-site/ The story is extremely sad. The Kamloops Indian Residential School (British Columbia, Canada) mentioned in this article had its own drum & bugle corps which appeared in western Canada and northwest U. S. for a number of years.

  13. Shocking but not surprising when people have been dehumanized. The founder of The Carlisle school is (in)famous for the quote. “**** the Indian, Save the Child”.

  14. Wow... the undocumented part is what hits me. Few years back Carlisle PA “Indian School” (Jim Thorpes Alma mater) started working with tribal leaders to return remains to their homeland. Problem there is incomplete records of names and tribes. To be undocumented like in BC, unbelievably sad
