  1. There is no reason for them to be this good with how young of a corps this is. Sounds incredible. Some obvious dirt, especially in the rhythmically complex parts of the closer but I am overall very pleasantly surprised. With my recent move to Indianapolis, maybe I will go ahead and attend the event now

  5. A better audio than a previous one done in a city square. Thank you. It never gets tiring listening to this musical book. It will always be a classic to me. And once again, PR has a real conductor.

  8. Just watched the run through video. WOW! What incredible work for the amount of time they’ve had. Big, thick sound, very balanced, and in-your-face. Chewie, I’ve got a good feeling about this.

  10. Agreed. It's arranged VERY smartly for a young corps.

  11. See that Box5 is reporting that they were hacked and their resources were overwhelmed by the attack. Noticed the link that finally worked was on a secure site.

  12. Just a reminder: the 2021 DCI's Performers Showcase deadline for registration AND video entry is in two weeks! August 1st at 11:59 PM PST. This is open to ANYONE, ANYWHERE, on ANY INSTRUMENT! 13. I spent too much time at Drum Corps Memorabilia Museum in Upper Darby (near Philly) the other week. Also I picked up a Mummers album at Goodwill the other day. Neighbors better not upset me out I’ll put the speakers out the Windows and crank the stereo. 😈 Dang I could go for a cheese steak now. 🤤

  23. Only on DCP, where most threads with nice intentions end up morphing into “forum behavior”, could a thread on “forum behavior” end up morphing into people being nice to each other. 🙂

  24. Not sure if you tuned into the Phanathon today, but this is exactly what the current corps staff is building on.

  25. They sound very good too. All these Corps are on timetables to put shows together that really do not allow for cleaning and polish either. So what we will see/ hear are Corps putting together what time allows. Given what we saw from Crown, and what we are seeing/ hearing from practice clips of Phantom and others, all these Corps staff and marchers really are doing yeoman's work here to put together solid and entertaining shows marchers will enjoy performing, and that fans will enjoy .

  26. The odds certainly would be in their favor if we look at the history. On the other hand, the Blue Devils has never been out of judged competition ( nor not even performing full field exhibitions ) for 2 entire years. The pandemic caused the cancellation of judged competition for not just one, but 2 DCI seasons. This is unprecedented . Its never happened in the DCI years from 1972 onward.. So this is all new for all these Corps, Blue Devils included. Might the unprecedented 2 years of no field shows reshuffle the competition placement deck ? Maybe.. maybe not. Alls we can say with a degree of certainty at the moment is that the Blue Devils ( and all other Corps too, of course ) have not been through such a 2 year period of non judged competition.

  27. SFZFAN, I see you responded with a HAHA emoji. Your one corps/one reason to love must be a humorous take. Please share. This is a fun, lighthearted way to pass the time while waiting for the season to begin.

  28. In the old days drum corps brought back tunes repeatedly. There were standards that were played year to year, or show tags that got played often. It's funny how things change when you get used to seeing a lot of new material. I think the show will be fresh and filled with different tunes by the Beatles. In a year with no judging and not as many shows this is a good time to have some fun and continue to explore something that worked for you in 2019. Would Bloo do this show if this was a full competitive season? I don't know. Maybe. But considering the circumstances this is a great year to explore, have fun, and try to rebuild your corps.

  29. Cadets will be the best recieved corps. Boston will win, they are convinced of it. None of what happens this year will have a causal connection to 2022 when BD & Crown return
