  1. And loved it. Fun to see the traditional greens. Fun to hear some “Park and Bark”. And the guys just looked like they’re having fun. Lacrosse live on Friday… looking forward to seeing my boy start his last go-round.

  5. Spring training is done, BAC is on the road to Indy today, with a few performances along the way. BAC’s first public performance is the annual Concert In The Park in downtown Boston (Post Office Square) tomorrow Friday 7/30 at 2:30p. They follow that up with a performance at Gillette Stadium Monday night, 8/2, then 3 in a row with the other corps coming in for the “tour”, in the Boston area, then on to Ohio, then Indy. BAC has a great show with some new things to show; video, gigantic guard, and some new music for this “Zoom” show. This is a bit different musically for BAC. The Boston area is hungry for drum corps and to see what the other corps in the touring group have to perform. Finally Drum Corps.

  7. Hi, Drum Corps Community. I had the entire set of DVDs and CDs for every year of DCI - my most prized possessions. It was all lost in one terrible weekend in 2019 when I was almost killed and my house was burned. I've been able to recoup much of it, but I'm still missing the following, and am happy to pay for any of the following: DVDs - 2008, 2000, 1999, 1998, 1996, 1994, 1991, 1990, 1989, 1987, 1986, 1984 CDs - 2014, 2015, 2016 Please send me a private message and we can go from there. Thanks, Harvey

  8. Jurassic, since I suspect we are of a similar age, don't you agree that the black horn/drum uni with the Waldo brings back memories of a certain rifle line from the late 79s? 😁

  11. We'd better enjoy it while we can because it looks like we're on track to NOT having a competitive season next year.

  12. Have one like that but forget if it’s Scouts or Jr Scouts. Was in a eBay grab bag of buttons. Not at home or I’d check which corps

  13. To this day, I think that is my favorite Blue Stars show.

  14. I am having daughter make me a 'thong' mask. Barely covers mouth & tip of nose. Like a thong bikini, but a mask. If this keeps up I may need to go into production mode. Could make different colors to support the Corps of your choice.

  16. Think it was Santa Clara who had a pin with Snoopy on it… Or a likeness that passed the licensing folks Edit: yep found an image of Snoopy hitting a bass drum but can’t copy and paste the link with my cell 🤬

  17. They need to pull some volume out of a lot it to make the big moments bigger and the corps less gassed - I'm sure they will. This isn't a rookie staff.

  18. yup cool moment - I think over the next 19 days they can clean this up a ton, it's very manageable Playing with the dynamics is an easy fix to make the last third better and more effective I like how they took out the constant prop moving

  19. I thought the same thing. Much was made in another thread about criticizing a corps as not taking risks, but I think we're going to see more "conservative" and less "risk taking" this season. And there's nothing wrong with it.

  20. Great sized corps, uniforms look fantastic. Interestingly retro show - way more conservative of a design than I thought it would be. Guitar player in the pit is a brilliant idea though, and he's very good too. Drumline never really made it to the front of the field - this is DCI, not UIL grrrrr. Seriously though, they're gonna be fine, and this is a great chance to get a young corps some poppin' crowd response and a ton of experience headed back into competition in '22. Thumbs up. Mike

  21. I'm getting really excited for next week. I am on vacation all week starting this Sunday, so I'll be heading down to Gillette Stadium in Foxboro for the 80+1 Anniversary night, then going to all three shows in Quincy, Lawrence #1 and Lawrence#2. A full drum corps week, to be sure! It's been two years (exactly) since my last in person drum corps show. I'm like a kid waiting for Christmas!

  22. I guess I am just surprised that anyone is going to criticize any show this season. I have to admit that during the darkest days of the pandemic, I found myself at times wondering if I would ever see live drum corps ever again. Each corps has had to engage is some serious soul searching in the past 18 months to contemplate the way forward for their organizations. The fact that this corps is out there with what looks like a full corps to me and is performing an enjoyable show is commendable. Keep it up guys, and to heck with the keyboard commandos on dcp.

  23. While I don't know specific "classical pieces" played and transcribed for the drum corps, the two corps who have been consistant in presenting "classical" music to drum corps fans are without a doubt (1) Phantom Regiment and (2) Santa Clara Vanguard. My Hat's off recoginition to both organizations for expanding symphonic band to the Marching Arts for all to enjoy.

  24. I remember that night, I was in the Crossmen drumline. We had already performed and changed. Members were wondering all over the place, in the stadium, parking lot, talking walks etc. When they announced the scores we were literally taken by surprise. No one really knew what to do, I don't think we had played an encore that season, or in several seasons. We were in shorts, tee shirts and flip flops. World went around quickly to meet back at the truck we were going to play. The staff told us to grab any corps jackets or Crossmen clothes we had and meet up. We warmed up in the arc and let a run of the show fly. I don't think it was that good, and some members were not in top form as they were already "relaxing" for the night. I'm not even sure if everyone even got word we won or were doing an encore. A version of this story comes up at every alumni get together with people from 90, a great memory.
