  2. The rep sounds like The Cadets, i likey likey! The show seems like it's going to be really fun. A man can only hope and I hope for something very special. If that 'Mockingbird' piece, is done how i am imagining in my head, oh boy, what a treat will it be.

  3. I don’t think so. They said they marched in the ‘2000’s. You have to give every show a chance. This show sounds like a lot of fun. Some sound a little tepid but I give them all a chance. I’ll have a pretty fair idea of what I like or don’t by Indy. You can, at least, get a half ###ed view from flomarching.

  5. I'm a Manager for another chain (can't legally say) and I can 99% confirm it's going to be in theatres. It's on our advanced bookings page, as well as BLL, so it'll be there as long as there isn't anything weird that happens.

  6. Took a look at this and decided to pass. Glad to know it's a new stadium. But I am a little surprised how much I no longer want car rentals, drives to the stadium, drives to hotels afterward. I know the tour stops are not aiming for people coming in from outside the host city. That's fine. Still, it is so nice in places like San Antonio to park yourself at a hotel for a night or two and walk to the show. For all its boringness, Indianapolis has the same terrific convenience factor. I went to the Katy shows a couple of years. Will miss Texas altogether this year. Hope it is a good show and the Cavies shine.

  9. OK GH, they're not looking backwards. They're moving forward with a new repertoire & only looking in the rear view mirror to "brake check" your ###. (Sorry, but that's funny.)

  13. Looks like the Houston show is actually in Tomball... hmmmm.... not sure how I feel about that. It's basically where I'm from, but... Tomball (not hating on folks from Tomball). Hmmmm. Edit* I didn't realize that Tomball got a new stadium. But I do have an interesting story about the old stadium. I went to Klein Forest (as I have already said) and we played Tomball on 10-31-08. So, KF was originally supposed to perform at BOA-Houston, but because of hurricane Ike we had to cancel and we opted to perform at the Super Regional show in SA. I was PUMPED! II mean, I was about to march on the same field as The Cavaliers march on. I remember getting to the band hall, at like, 3 or 4am and did a little morning practice. Afterwards, Mr. Worosello packed us up and we moved out. I didn't sleep... I was focusing on the show. I can't tell yall how many times I went through the show in my head. Anyways performed... and for me... that was the last time I performed at any marching competition. I had step away from my gang of low brass friends and I had to let a couple of tears roll down. So after that we packed the busses up and went straight to a football game. KF vs Tomball. We beat the snot out of them 35-14. As a senior, that day was the best day of the year. I got to march in the Alamodome and watched my football team win. And if yall are still reading this... thanks for allowed a young adult share a memory that happened almost 14 years ago.

  14. The only way I found it was a google search & it popped up as a Regal event. I haven't seen anything from DCI on the theater broadcast. Not familiar with the company; but the closest theater for me is over 2 hours away.

  22. I found it under Regal Cinemas website & then search DCI. (You have to put in your location to find a theater.) The movie plot is still unknown. 😁 https://www.regmovies.com https://www.regmovies.com/movies/dci-2022-tour-premiere/ho00012478#/

  24. Hey, if it wasn't for this activity my knowledge of music wouldn't be what it is today. Honestly, I love the excitement coming from The Cadets right now. I kinda want to update my prediction list. The general vibe I'm getting from The Cadets reminds me of The Cavaliers 2016 (this is a REALLY good thing). Frankly with this update I think The Cavaliers and The Cadets are going to "shock" a lot of folks this summer. Im...I'm.... whew, LETS GO!!!

  27. Having known a bunch of enablers the words you don’t want to hear are “everything’s ok” or “it’s not that bad”. If you really care you end up fighting both the enablers and the problem itself. And lot of times dealing with the enablers distracts you from the problem with the end result being the last thing anyone wants.

  29. I'm kind of with you. Hoping, at least, that we'll see a couple of upstarts/upsets. No idea what those might be, but I could still sleep at night with a slightly different top 12 than all of the recent years past.

  32. It is with great sadness that I bring you the news that the Kidsgrove Scouts have officially gone inactive for the 2022 season. Unfortunately, the corps is yet another casualty of the Covid pandemic. Having not fielded a corps since 2019 and with Europe having lost two full seasons, the demise was ultimately down to both staff and membership moving on to other interests and pursuits. The organisation is not dead though as the Kidsgrove Junior Scouts are being reformed to be a local parade corps and as an opportunity for youth in the "Potteries" region of England near Stoke on Trent to learn and participate in music. The organisation still retains all the equipment and gear. Whilst the door is certainly closed, it hasn't been fully deadbolted, but the corps administration has stated that fielding a corps again is not likely to be on the cards for "the near future"... For those new to the activity, this is a really big deal. Kidsgrove had reach far and wide on both sides of the Atlantic Ocean. I will offer a brief history lesson if you'll indulge me... Formed in 1908, The corps began life as a scout band , performing primarily in parades. In the early 1960s, a fire destroyed all of the band's instruments. Taking this as an opportunity to start afresh, John Swindells borrowed money from his father, bought new instruments, and re-formed the group into a more structured organization. By 1972, the Scouts had grown into the UK national scout and guide champions. The corps gave up the traditional scout uniforms only in 1992. In 2001, the corps embarked on a different direction in show concept, from heroic show music to jazz. They finished 2003 in second place at the Drum Corps Europe Open Class competition and fourth in the British Youth Band Division I contest. Ultimtely John's son Rob took over teh day to day running of the corps and over the last 20 years or so the corps became known as an extremely tight knit group with many generations sharing the field together. Mom, dad and kids all in uniforms was not at all uncommon and several marraiges were formed within the ranks. Competitive success really took off from 2007 when the corps won their first Drum Corps United Kingdom Championship title and they won it 7 more times in 2009, 10, 11, 12, 14, 18 and 19. In the UK the Kidsgrove Scouts Juniors also won the Junior Class Championship five times in 2008, 10, 11, 12 and 13. In Europe the Scouts won three titles in 2010, 15 and 19. And finally the corps was also well known in the USA having competed on the DCA circuit making finals at each calling in 2010 (6th), 2012 (7th), 2015 (6th) and 2017 (7th). Prior to the Covid pandemic, the cors was due to attend the DCA championships in 2020.
