honestly i have gotten past the point where i need to research a show before i see it. if i have to read a novel to get it, you over designed

yes! Or your members can not perform what was given...above their heads, over designed for them etc. Trying to be something they aren't. A good designer designs for their members, challenges BUT writes for ability, NOT their own ego!

I think the long, smarty-pants backstories are also usually highly correlated with shows that just don't measure up.

Well yall, I have officially requested time off for some DCI shows! Two years... TWO YEARS! Man, I'm excited!

I will forever spend my money on a few DCI, WGI, color guard and marching band events IN PERSON each season for the immersive experience instead of gambling with Flo. But I do understand Flo’s value. Some fans depend on Flo who may not have easy access to stadium or arena shows. May your Flo connections, camera angles, sound, and clarity be wonderful.

I am hoping for a really fierce battle for top 12. Say from 8-17 I'd love to see a real battle where any given night we could see lots of changes and some super great shows. I predict the top 4 or 5 will be very close all summer. I would love to see a different winner at every major regional, similar to what we experienced in 1990 when the top 6 went back and forth all summer. Might we have a dark horse this summer? it would be great to see a sort of Madison Scouts 1988 scenario.

That had to have been it...and it was impossible on those horns. The only 1st valve notes around a mid-staff Ab were a F and Bb...the Bb was a full step UP, so moving the slide in wouldn't do anything, and the F was a step and a half down...the only way to move the 1st valve slide in enough to make a Ab would for it to be a trombone slide!

I almost got arrested in the 1980s for playing an A flat. Fortunately, I was able to convince the authorities it was a G sharp.

I don’t get that. In all my years following drum corps I don’t think I’ve ever heard of members from other corps saying BD members thought they were above anyone else or their **** don’t stink. Some people confuse confidence with arrogance. They’re out there rehearsing like everyone else and I can assure you the level of demand isn’t coming easy for them. I can’t believe I’m coming to the defense of BD. Lol
