  1. Cheshire is going through a rebuilding period. Geoffrey Sperling is the current colorguard designer and choreographer Laura Choquette is also a choreographer and technician.
  2. I have no idea. I'd like to assume that after the equipment trailer being broken into and no sign of them trying to raise money by souvies I think that KK will not field again in 2008, but again this is an assumption. However on the topic of capital regiment 2006 again I would like to reiterate that we were fed and given plenty of water. I think there were logistical problems but after being in/ witnessing serveral organizations I don't believe that Rick Bays was a bad corps director at all. I think... no I believe (and some people might call me naive for saying this) that his heart was in the right place and I hope that Capital Regiment fields a corps for the 2008 season. Drum Corps International has already lost enough corps so please instead of bashing corps or listening to/spreading inaccurate/false stories I encourage everyone to support this activity and its member corps whether you disagree with their management or not.
  3. So i just read this whole post and all i have to say is "Really now?" I mean seriously. I opened this post thinking it would be a good discussion about the "play" section in our show this past summer, but apparently a constructive conversation was too hard. Honestly, I don't care if you thought that our show was bad or whatever. 1) You weren't a performer and 2) Your not a judge, and if you are then you should evaluate the way you address things on the internet. So I don't mean to sound mean but your opinion is pretty much worthless. How about before you start a post up "Ice" you think about everyone your going to affect by what you post. Because I was a performer in that show and I loved our design team. But despite my apparent bias to the show.... by calling a big portion of our show fluff and mediocre you not only attack me (which i take personally) but you attack 134 other kids, and a 15+ staff. Your topic is a personal attack on the organizations ability to produce and execute a show, and i'd be a fool to just sit back and watch you bash all these people. so my advice to you is to stop posting. Don't respond to this post. Just stop. becuase right now I'm sure no one wants to hear what you have to say or your fake apologies. Geoff A Proud member of Capital Regiment 2006
  4. I think the idea of Troopers making finals is a dream people are having, but very doubtful. Madison.... I wouldn't be surprised to see them drop out of the top 12 I'm think Bluecoats will have an amazing show.
  5. I think the fact that this topic has gone on so long is ridiculous. I agree with Matt when he said this topic is over.
  6. I had an amazing season, and no matter all the BS that happened behind the scenes I always felt like i had a family to rely on, and I thank everyone for participating in CR06.
  7. Not going to lie. I loved how madisons uniforms were designed. I think it fit the show nicly. Crowns uniforms were the deal, but the hair design for the girls however was deff. not. (sorry ladies no offense just personal opinion)
  8. The 2006 show is entitled "EmeraldScapes". The music has not yet been annouced to the public. This year pioneer hopes to have a competitive and effective season with the hiring of new faces, the purchusing of amplification, and the introdcution of winter ensambles. I Invite you all to attend audition weekend Dec. 16-18th Tid bits of Pioneers 2006 staff DEAN ADAMCZYK will again write the music for our pit as well as instruct the pit during the winter and summer months. This will be Dean's 4th season with Pioneer. This will include more of Dean's time in the Summer, newer keyboards, amplification of the pit. MR. STEWART SPOON has accepted and has been appointed to the position of Percussion Section Caption Head of the Pioneer. This will be Stewart's 9th season with the corps! He has served as Bass Drum Tech, Pit Instructor, and assistant to Mickey Hartzog for the entire drum line. Some of Stewart's Bass Drum Lines have been legendary in Pioneer history for performance excellence and es-spirit-de-corps. Mr. RICK KIRBY will once again be arranging the Brass Music for Pioneer's 2006 Production. This will be his 3rd year with us. Last year's music, as you recall, was an all original composition. Mr. Kirby was the Band Director of New Berlin Eisenhower High School, Waukesha West High School, and currently the Band Director of Carroll College's Community Band. He is an avid corps fan, a former DCM Judge, and a popular arranger for several competing marching bands in the Midwest. KYLA SMITH 2006 guard caption head: This will be her second season with Pioneer. She is a student at California State University in Fresno, CA. She is married and teaches two WGI winter guards: Clovis West HS (World Class) and Delano HS (Open Class). Bothare award winning and competitive guards in WGI. Mr. OLIVER BULLOCK has confirmed that he will be our Pioneer Staff/Program coordinator for 2006. He returns to Pioneer for his 3rd season with us. Oliver will also serve as our Visual Designer. Mr. PAUL RENNICK is on the Percussion Faculty of the University of North Texas. He is the Director of the University of North Texas' Drumline, who have earned multi National Championships. Paul Rennick is also the current Percussion Caption Head and Arranger for the Phantom Regiment. We are extremely fortunate and excited to have Mr.Rennick as our Pioneer Percussion Arranger. Mr. DAN HILES as our new 2006 Pioneer Brass caption Head! Dan marched with the Pioneer Family from 1996-2001 as a Mellophone player. He was on Brass staff from 2002 to 2005 where he served as a tech. new VISUAL CAPTION HEAD for the 2006 season, MR. BRIAN WILLIAMS. Brian, a California native, resides in Fresno, California. He marched as a Contra player for the Santa Clara Vanguard. He has been a visual instructor for the Santa Clara Vanguard Cadets,Santa Clara Vanguards , and the Bluecoats. Mr. Williams, who holds two Bachelor of Arts degrees in History and Music Education, is the Band Director for the Los Vanos High School. Besides teaching drum corps, Brian has taught several high school marching bands since 1993. More news to come. "Better Every Day" With this new Staff and an amazing show on the way I hope to see alot of new faces at the december camp. We have openings in our hornline as well as our guard. I'm sure there might be a few openings left in the percussion (battery) as well, but i could be mistaken. Pioneer being a supporter of all drum corps we would like to extend an invitation to any Trooper member who is considering marching Pioneer. We are always there to help dedicated members out. Due to distance if you want to march but cannot attend all the camps do not worry. Please feel free to go to our website (www.pioneer-corps.org) or contact our Corps Office or Drum Major at there respective e-mail addresses posted within the message board.
  9. I completly agree with Dudes words. If you have a problem with a corps show and want to say they "let you down", and gripe about how you had to lug yourself to a show, and buy stuff, then that makes me laugh. If you think the corps is so much of a let down then don't watch them. I'm sure they don't care about your opinion. Another thing is you believe they were a let down then how about u start your own corps, and do better. THose kids put there heart and souls into there show, and for you to come on this board and give them a negative review like that is mean and unfair. Geoff
  10. Just adding on to what has been said. The Second personality was not a "Princess" she was a queen, and a chess queen to be exact. At the last movement when her personality meets they fight (note the cherography) The show can also be interpreted as someone suffering from schizophrenia, but thats just another way of looking at it.
  11. I had an amazing season. Completly different from last years expierence. I was kinda dissapointed at the placment but overall it was a blast and I miss it alot. I'm deffiantly coming back for my 3rd season. Geoff
  12. What did everyone out there in the drum corps world think of pioneer during there 2005 season? Geoff
