  1. I *think* MiniCorps now have to really worry about it because Baker Video Productions has started recording - and selling - their I&E performances... (No one else's performances in I&E are officially recorded and sold, so...) Then there's the Historical argument that going to Vertical Valves made the Bugle a legitimate musical instrument (one of the concerns of the AL Rules Congress in the mid-60s...) and therefore subject to copyright concerns...
  2. Frank, Diceman Radios' contract with Live365/RIAA, ASCAP (not to mention agreements with DCA, Baker Video Productions, Digital Recordings, POCM et al) prohibits us from making available anything in our playlist... Sorry, you'll just have to listen in! :)
  3. I have about all the Championships here: http://diceman.home.att.net/rcas.htm I also have miscellaneous scores through the years for non-championship shows in the decades archives... -- Ron in Florida
  4. I know in '71 we competed mostly "locally within NYS", with a couple trips to Canada (we beat De La Salle in their own backyard at the "Alhambra Invitational") - and one "field trip" to the U.S. Open and one other one down around The City... (I really, *really* wanted to go to the World Open, but...) I think finances had a lot to do with it as Joes folded after the '71 season...
  5. (Going back a few years earlier...) When the Executives senior corps folded after the 1966 season I marched in the Utica Royaleers junior corps... We competed against other "unknown" corps like the Canastota Saints, Tri-Town Cadets, Frankfort Starlighters, Barons of Steuben, et al as well as better-known corps like Mello-Dears, Geneva Appleknockers, Magnificent Yankees, Syracuse Marauders, etc. - even the year Les Metropolitains went junior (I remember hearing them play, "Mission Impossible" at an indoor show... awesome!) There was a show *every* weekend within easy driving distance. We never used buses; the parents loaded as many kids/equipment in the station wagons as they could and formed convoys. During the show, the parents would all sit together and catch up on the news of the day, etc. There were also Color Guard shows in gyms almost every Saturday night during the winter, where I saw some greats like West Genesee, Norwich, Sherburne, Penn Yan, Oxford, New Berlin, Mexico, etc. In those days the CG marched either "silent" or with a single drummer later on... Some awesome precision! Ah, those were the days... Heh...
  6. No, no... thank you! Thank you all! We're (at the moment) *both* here at the studios - and yes, we take requests! (Request Emails found.. elsewhere... Heh...) I'm working on an easier way to handle requests, while keeping the RIAA happy... (Diceman Radio is fully RIAA, BMI and SESAC Compliant - which is why I stay with live365 instead of other easier/cheaper routes like Shoutcast, etc.) I also have some ideas/software for adding "Value Added Content" like drum corps-related Public Service Announcements, maybe a live DJ or two now and then, etc. (SSHHH! ) Heh... Anyway, I'm pretty new here, so I hope it's ok to post the station links? 7. (You guys knew something like this would bring me out of Lurk Mode, didn't ya... Heh...) It was the 1962 "Evening With The Corps at Carnegie Hall" album... (I have Volume 3 right in front of me.) "Ludwig Von Drumhead" (Jack Marns) gave that lecture as part of the Skyliners' performance... We have it on Diceman Radio, and the jacket blurb is here: http://diceman.home.att.net/writeup62.htm -- Diceman Radio: 24/7 Old Time Drum Corps Dialup: http://www.live365.com/stations/diceman719 Broadband: http://www.live365.com/stations/diceman719h
