  1. Just a reminder that the Erie Thunderbirds scored 100.5 in 1995. Shoulda heard us that night.
  2. Nanci was hiding tattoo. Not sure why. It's an Eagle carrying an anchor. NavyAir. Speaking of the Navy......... I brought my 2-Valve Soprano every where I went. It's been on 2 Aircraft Carriers. It's been to Diego Garcia. (Chagos Archipeligo) Hawaii, Hong Kong, Thailand........Did I smoke Thai-Stick is Thailand? Navy say: "Neba happen Grasshoppa!" Mombasa, Africa. Agana, Guam. Singapore...........and so on........Shipmates wanted to hear me play: LEGEND OF THE ONE-EYED SAILOR. I was good back then. I played knee-deep in the Indian Ocean on New Years Eve, 1988. Enough about me. So.....there ya have it I am Nick I play Sop Chicks dig me
  3. Since it's your birthday Gene, I'll forget about the $15.00 the hotel charged me for the cot that you didn't sleep in. Dam good job! Was it me, or Cheeze? Cheeze ain't too happy. He planned on helpin' your snoring problem. When I start snoring, in order to get me to stop, ya have to rub my azz real-soft-like. Cheez was gonna see if that works for you. Your loss. Anyway Happy "%$@$&^% !" Birthday.
  4. Was my room anyway. Thank me later. Labatt's Blue please..............Bottle..............Ice Cold a must. I'm leaving Friday 'bout Mid-Day. Ask Gary Matczak if U R not sure when Mid-Day is. Don't B like CHEEZE. You can stay in the room Sat. I'd advise U to sleep with one eye open though. You may look good in the dark. Remember Macy's 1994? You ain't sleepin' in my bed though. A.........B..........C-ya! I am Nick. Sometimes I play Trumpet
  5. There's a really nice bench next door to the Bodaga. The nice thing about the Bodaga is, that, it's directly across the street from the stadium. Did I mention that they sell $1.00 Labatt's Blue? ($1.50 for a bottle) Seriously though....nothing wrong with standing correctly. An Asian would have called me: "Chick Forea." Speaking of chicks...........
  6. Affirmative Negative Gene. If you want him bad enough, you can have 'em. However, CHEEZE called yesterday, and obliged me with the honor of being his "celly" for the DCA weekendorium.....?.....So, U R out. Just like Baseball. You're like: "Strike 3"...dude. So, have another one. I'm never out. You should know that by now. I'm in-like-Flynn. U can room with JEZEBELE. C-ya at the Bodaga. $1 Labatt's Blue...................brings tears to my eyes. Love ya........................................................................(dad) still Nick
  7. Hope to see ya there this weekend John. I feel like I won the lottery. I get to room with "CHEEZE!" All I know is that I plan on frequenting the Bodaga across the street from the stadium. $1.00 Labatt's Blue!!! That's almost like free beer. I'm bringing all my pennies. Ali Jada Mohammud takes pennies. (he owns the Bodaga) Though I won't be in any competitive event.....I'm still bringin' my horn. I love to play when I'm "loaded." I plan on being loaded most of the weekend. (not like Ralph though) I won't be staggering.....I hope. I'm still Nick I play Sop Chicks?..........well.............u know
  8. I'll see 'yinz' next weekend. Anyone else goin'?
  9. Rained a little during the show. At the PARTY though, it was hot and sunny. One of the best parties I've been to in quite some time. Huge party. WOW! It was the best party I've been to in quite a while. Oh......wait a minute...........there was no party. Must have been a dream. THUNDERBIRDS won the show. We were about to win the party as well, but, no party. So we won the parking lot. Me and Tommy D. I must have had 4.........or 16 Labatt's Blue. I can't remember 'cause I was disappointed that there was no Drum Corps after-the-show-get-together. That was kinda sad. This is my opinion. My opinion does not necessarily reflect the opinion of the THUNDERBIRDS. Sometimes I fly my own "pattern." I am Nick. I played my Soprano yesterday in "Jimtown." Tommy D was there with me. He played some high notes on his Soprano.
  10. I used to work Bingo with Donny Allen. I used to not smoke. I'll quit again before Finals....I think. Blue & 'Boro's go so well together. Smoke-free for 6 mos. Gene made me start again.....When I grow up, I wanna be just like him. That's enough. I'll shut up now. Little hung over from last night. I think I drank 6 or 15 Labatt's. Sop & Chicks
  11. That's why I'm a little pizzed-off! I have received 2 offers to march with Corps from another state. I was hoping to be able play my Soprano, and not drive more than 45 minutes to practice. I certainly can see how Empire would be a more attractive Corps to march with. Some people even went to Crusaders. I'd be at Cru, however, I prefer to play Soprano in Drum Corps. (that's my opinion) I'd march with Empire, but............3 Hours to rehearse! Besides, my wife said: "NO!" So, I guess I'll be a spectator................AGAIN!!!!!!!!!!!!.................................DAM!!!!! Got THUNDERBIRD rehearsal tonight. Maybe I'll get real drunk and talk about what we shoulda, woulda, coulda done differently to keep a field Corps in Erie. I am Nick......I play Soprano..........I ain't too happy.
  12. We were doing pretty good for a 1st year Corps. We had a few smokin' rehearsals. I actually thought that we DID have a Drumline. They were there all winter. We had Hornline/Drumline run-throughs at the end of rehearsal. They rehearsed when the hornline rehearsed. They ate when the hornline ate. I actually thought that we had a real Drumcorps. WTF happened? Alot of us were led to believe that the Percussion Ensemble there during the winter, would be the Drumline for the THUNDER. I'm not the only one who believes that. I have made a few phone calls, and I am NOT alone. This is NOT just my humble opinion. This is what I, and many others, were led to believe. This was a tough decision. Alot of us are shocked though. Now what?? I want to march. I feel empty. I don't care about any solo's. I'd play 3rd Sop. I just wanna march. I am venting......why?.......because it's been a while since I have "let-loose" on DCP. I realize that my choices are limited. I also realize that I need to STFU! So, I am Nick. I'm a little upset. Got THUNDERBIRD rehearsal tomorrow.......I'm gonna suck......Got Memorial Day Parade coming up. Oh boy! Maybe I'll real drunk, or something.
  13. It's OK Donny. This truly is horrible news. I really wanted to march. I got the phone call on Fri night from the Corps Director. Didn't sleep very well. I feel like I just lost my girlfriend. Spent all day drinking Labatt Blues at Tommy Davenports house instead of rehearsing. Mikey "B" showed up. I got real drunk. Tommy and I pulled out the Sops anyway. He still screams. Just want to let yinz know that this absolutely freakin' sux. I ain't happy. That's all.................
  14. It is, and I am very sad. I want to March! Now I'm thinkin' about drivin' 3 hours. How 'bout East Strausburg? I REALLY WANT TO MARCH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! DAM!!!!!!!!!!!!!! NOT HAPPY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  15. I was notified via FACEBOOK that I was being summoned on DCP. Donny you are my friend as well. You will always be my friend no matter what. I'll talk to ya. There is THUNDER in the forecast at Iroquois High School this Sunday. I'll be there. That's where Rob teaches and Ken, our Brass Caption Head, is Principal. I'll be there. Rob will probably give me detention for playing too loud and Ken might paddle me. I ain't scared! Bring it on! For those who don't all ready know...........I am Nick, I play lead Sop, and I got one solo. Chris Wise has the other one. He marched with Phantom last year. He's good!.......and my mom says that chicks dig me. Thanks mom! ........................and there ya have it!
  16. I like Rochester. Alot of Bees in the stadium though. I'm still mad at that lady who (inadvertently) sprayed bee repellent in my coffee during the alumni show. Thanks anyway Gary. How 'bout the church service next door to the stadium? The church choir sang louder than a few of the corps............ Just sayin'.
  17. I'm dedicated. I'm committed. I help when I can. I'm there. I do what I gotta do to get it done. I make no excuses. I'm "in" to this thing we call Drum Corps. Are U? Not alot of positive things going on in this world (economy.....missing children.....shootings....ect....) but, for the time we are doing Drum Corps, we can forget about those things. Sometimes I hate to watch the news (but I do anyway) I realize that I'm just rambling. What I am trying to say is that, if you live in the area, and you're thinkin' about gettin' on the field, think about Erie. We are looking for people who just wanna "get out and play." (food for thought) Anyway Donny, I have heard Mike Linton call you many things.....but not Don. Could be my memory playin' tricks on me, but, I can't say I recall anyone calling you Don. I do remember when you tried to stab me with a pencil in Syracuse....lol...........no really........lol. That was a fun night regardless. How 'bout the ride home to the Cottage? Those were fun days. Looking forward to more of those in Erie. I'll shut up now...........and there ya have it. I am Nick "I ain't the greatest, but I try."
  18. I never heard anyone call you Don...........anyway.......good luck with your DCI endeavor. I'll be in Erie. I gotta support my hometown. Things are goin' good. I hope things go good for you......Pioneer???? anyway gl You are right D.A...........I am Nick.......no matter where I'm at.....I'm there............and there ya have it.
  19. Well you could say that our next rehearsal is this Sunday 15Mar @ 11:00. You could say that you'll come and check us out. We are doing pretty good for a first year Corps. Schube's doin' it & Rob's in charge. (the 3 of us were college roommates) I can't wait until we start learning drill. That's all I'm gonna say for now. I am Nick............
  20. I'll be more than happy to do a run-through for ya D.A. I can't right now. I'm just warmin' up. However, on my way to Pittsburgh today, I'll do one (maybe 2) for ya. See, I play while I'm driving. No BS. I hope that you are doing well in whatever class you're taking. I wish the best for ya D.A. I compromised with my wife......now I have to practice in the basement. Hey, it's better than being in the dog house. So, now my updates will be few, and far between. I will say this though: "Check me out on the field. I'll be with the LAKE ERIE THUNDER." We're staying in "G" and I have to re-learn VIBRATO. I have 9 days to get ready for our next rehearsal, so I better get on it. Still don't smoke. Had to quit because I'm Nick, I play Lead Sop, and there ya have it. 1995 THUNDERBIRD OF THE YEAR 2000 ROCHESTER CRUSADER BRASS MVP (I understand what the LINTLEY award is......thanks for reminding me though) 2001 BEST VIBRATO/SOLO - CRUSADERS 2005 EXTRA EFFORT AWARD ERIE THUNDERBIRDS Just tryin' to show my dedication to Drum Corps..........I was honored on all 4 occasions........even the LINTLEY.
  21. Well at least you got something. Better than nothing. Golde left me at Smokin' Joe's once. Good thing he lives just around the corner. I let him "have it" when I got to his house. Lysle Ave/Spencer not the best streets in Rochester. I'm gonna do run-through right now. Tryin' to get good. Might take all season..........but I'm tryin'. Check out the THUNDER. We're stayin' in "G." All I'm sayin' is check us out. We're gonna be good........and there ya have it from Nick....Lead Sop from Erie........talks too much.
