  1. Here are my choices. 1978, 79..............Santa Clara Vanguard doing the Bottle Dance. 1980...............Spirit of Atlanta on the company front of "Let it Be Me" 1988.................Madison's ending of "Malaguena" 1991.................Star of Indiana doing the rotating cross 1992...................Cavalier's push in "Peterloo" There are probably so many others that I left out. Over the past 30+ years, there have been some great moments. I hope to see many more in the future. :)
  2. I watched the parade on the home and garden network. No interruptions like on the major networks. The Star Wars section was great!!!
  3. Since I marched many years ago (1979), I would have to say our drum major (Jeff Fiedler). He was not only a great drum major, but definitely an awesome leader and person. Our staff was ok, but you could tell that Jeff was going to be something special for the Corps in the future. The current memebers are sure lucky to have him as their Director. No wonder the Cavaliers have won 7 DCI titles. Jeff was very important in getting the current staff together and working as a team.
  4. Old School: 1978 SCV 1978 Phantom 1980 SCV, 27th Lancers, Spirit 1983 Bridgemen New School: 1990 Cavaliers 1995 Cavaliers 1997 Garfield Cadets 2000 Cadets 2006 Phantom Regiment
  5. I really haven't been able to get into the Blue Devils shows of the last several years. I miss them playing big band jazz (Basie, Buddy Rich, Kenton, etc.). Their drill design is some of the most boring stuff I've seen on the field. Another corps that bored me to tears was 2006 Blue Knights. I'm sorry but it didn't do much for me. Boston's 2006 show also was a letdown.
  6. I think the mello soloist for Garfield (1983, 84) was even better. I wish I could remember her name. But she went on to instruct Crossmen for a year or 2. I loved her solo in the 84 West Side Story show.
  7. Here are my choices: 1991 Star of Indiana- Outstanding hornline (go mellos), breathtaking drill, and an excellent use of Resphigi. 1983 Garfield Cadets- This show started a long line of championships for them. Who can ever forget the Z pull? 1996 Phantom Regiment- The beautiful lush sounds of their great brassline. 2006 Cavaliers- "Machine" had the total package. Awesome! 1976 Blue Devils- The first of many championships using big band jazz & great Wayne Downey arrangements.
