  1. I would have to agree with you. And not to sound like a jerk, but why was this post written. What if their was a post about what if this section of a corps was better where do you think they would have placed. Why is it Vanguard. Not to say that I hate Vanguard but this just seems a little wierd that Vanguard is having so much focus because they placed their lowest placing ever, WHICH STILL IS NOT BAD! They have never been out of finals. Am I making any kind of point here?
  2. Ya know, I really don't know right now, I watch that show and it was a great show, but wasn't my favorite show of theirs.
  3. 4. From the shows that I have seen which is basically only since 1999 (I know, I need to see MORE) Blue Knights 2000 (my favorite show that I have seen from them) Phantom 2001 - I watch that show, especially the opening, holy dear........ Glassmen 2001 Cadets 2001 - I seriously that show should have put them closer to Cavs, and not tied BD for second. Cadets 2003 Santa Clara Vanguard 2003 - SERIOUSLY, SHOULD HAVE BEEN HIGHER!!!!!!!! Boston 2004
  5. That is what I did. I had my heart set on making Phantom Regiment. I was raised as having a desire to being in PR. I went to the November camp and was not happy with my experience (yes i got cut). I really wanted to do drum corps, had my heart set on doing drum corps after I graduated high school. I looked to both glassmen and bluecoats since they weren't far from my home and ultimately chose the bluecoats because they had similar rep in their excercise book that i used in high school minus a couple of excercises they used which were the ones we used and not the ones I was familiar with. I love bluecoats and am happy where I am. Have grown to love them with all of my heart. But honestly, from my experience have many options and keep yourself available to whatever gives you the chance. Don't cut yourself short, leave all options open!!!!!!!
  6. If they gave away chord progressions, then what would be the point of arrangers selling their originals for money. I mean seriously, if you are given the chords, you can just sit there and listen to all the parts and put together who is playing which part ya know. Aural skills in music schools. And I know the translations to the bluecoats stuff!!!!!!!!
  7. Tom rarick will still be arranging. TRUST ME!!!! hehehehe, I really enjoy his writing. Both playing and listening
  8. Thought you all might find this interesting to hear about. Straight from the Bluecoats website. The Bluecoats are pleased to announce several exciting additions to their 2005 percussion staff. Bret Kuhn will join the Bluecoats percussion team as a consultant and teacher. "The addition of Bret to an already formidable Bluecoats percussion staff is HUGE! I am so excited about working with him again as he is not only a great teacher, but a great friend as well, states Bluecoats Percussion Arranger Michael McIntosh. As percussion design consultant, Bret will be another set of eyes and ears for the percussion design team, and will also have some teaching time with the members this summer. Also joining the Bluecoats team as percussion instructors will be Chad Shaedler, Chris Sakowski, and Eric Ridenour. Chad marched snare with both Nite Express and the Blue Knights, and is currently Battery Caption Head and percussion arranger for WGI World Class finalist Gateway Indoor Percussion. Chad has also worked with the Pride of MSU percussion ensemble and the Colts Drum & Bugle Corps. He will join veteran Bluecoats staffer Tim Maynard in front of the Bluecoats snare line this year. Chris Sakowski comes to the Bluecoats after several years spent marching and teaching with the Colts. He also works with Gateway Percussion, and is in his second year as caption head/arranger for the University of Memphis marching band and PASIC drum lines. In 2006, Chris will be joining returning Bluecoats percussion instructor Adam Clay as an instructor of the bass line. Eric is a former marching member of both the Blue Knights and the Santa Clara Vanguard. Currently, he is actively involved in teaching Pomona High School in Arvada, Colorado and many other high school groups around the Denver area. This season, Eric will assist returning caption head Ray Ulibarri with the tenor line. Rounding out the Bluecoats percussion instructional staff for the 2006 season are returning front ensemble instructors Brad Palmer and Allen Justus. Stay tuned to Bluecoats.com for the upcoming announcement of the full 2006 Bluecoats instructional staff! AWWWWWWWWWW MAN!!!!!!!!! Can not wait to begin my fourth season with these SWEET cats.
  9. Don't forget about (A Certain Illegal Drug That I Don't Know If I Can Say Online And Has No Affiliation With The Bluecoats Organization By Any Means Just So I Cover My Butt) Trances.............. I mean Tijuana Dances.... THAT WAS A MOUTH FULL!
  10. Carolina Crown's Dancer Soloist in 2004. BEAUTIFUL. ABSOLUTELY GORGEOUS
  11. Jerod I am totally gonna have to agree with you on Phantom 03. They were not a bad hornline, but I also personally think they were overrated. I don't think they should have won brass. I think they put together a very emotional show that year, and the players played their hearts out, I MEAN PLAYED THEIR HEARTS OUT. But they have truly matured like WHOA the past two years. When I saw the finals broadcast I told my phantom friend, I thought your hornline this year has prolly been one of the best hornlines I have ever heared. I think they should have won high brass this year. Definatley, they had such a rich and pure sound. AMAZING SIMPLY AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!
  12. I TOTALLY AGREE. When i saw them for the first time in the season, I think at the BOA/DCI show, I thought the silver trim was very nice!! I loved the look this year.
  13. I didn't go through them all, but the big one I have is everytime I see a tour bus I think, who is on that bus? Which corps was that. And I thought I saw a phantom tour bus on my way home from finals this year in michigan but who knows. I might have been hallucinating!!!!!!!
