  1. According to the one article, the YEA BOD hired the law firm that represents them as the "independent investigator" to investigate the allegations against Hopkins. They should have hired someone completely independent of all parties involved to investigate and not their own lawyers. It's highly unlikely you'll get an unbiased report when you hire someone you pay to protect you to investigate criminal allegations made against you.
  2. I'd like to thank everyone who purchased videos from my Drum Corps Videos website for the benefit sale I'm doing for Chuck Quackenbush and Donna Haas Morgan. I would also like to apologize for those of you who wanted to pay with a credit card and were unable to do so. The shopping cart is currently set to only accept Paypal payments, but I also accept money orders as well. The sale ends on March 31st, so there's still 7 days left if you didn't get a chance to place an order yet. Whether you use the discount coupon or not, all of the proceeds from the orders I get go into the benefit fund. I only take out enough to cover shipping. The way I look at it is, people are buying the videos because they want to help Chuck and Donna and these are not sales that I would normally get. So, all of the proceeds should go to them.
  3. My apologies to anyone who had a problem trying to use a credit card to purchase videos on the website. At the present time, the only payment options are Paypal and Money Orders.
  4. DrumCorpsVideos.com - 50% Off Sale on all videos. Use coupon code - BenefitSale I am running a 50% off sale on my drum corps videos website to raise funds to help with uncovered medical costs for two people in the drum corps community. The first is Donna Haas Morgan who was recently diagnosed with brain cancer and the second is Chuck Quackenbush, a Blue Rock alumnus who was involved in a serious auto accident on November 8, 2014 and is still undergoing treatment. All proceeds (minus shipping costs) from sales made on the website between now and March 31, 2015 will be donated towards helping Donna and Chuck. The sale is the perfect opportunity for people to purchase historic drum corps videos at half price and at the same time, help these wonderful people. Thank you!!!
  5. On November 8, 2014, Blue Rock alumnus Chuck Quackenbush was seriously injured in a car accident on the New Jersey Turnpike. He nearly had to have his left arm amputated from the elbow down, but so far the surgeries he's had have helped avoid that. He's in for a long road to recovery and will require more surgeries. An account has been set up to collect donations to help cover costs that won't be covered by health insurance. If anyone is interesting in making a donation, you can find more information here: Friends of Chuck Quackenbush Thank you! Chris Haas drumcorpsvideos.com

  15. It is with great sadness that I pass on the news that my father, Charlie Haas, passed away on January 3, 2009. My Dad had been battling leukemia for the past several months and was just admitted to the VA Hospice in Lebanon, PA on December 29, 2008. A viewing will be held at the Thompson Funeral Home in Lebanon, PA on Thursday, January 8th. Funeral services will be held on Friday, January 9th. Exact times for the viewing and services have not yet been determined. As some of you are aware, both of my parents were very involved with drum corps in the 60's and 70's. Up until the time she passed away last February, my Mom, Jackie, often spoke of the time she and my father spent video taping in those early years. My Dad had many fond memories as well and up until just a few weeks ago, he and I would talk on the phone and he would share some of the stories he and my mother spoke of throughout the years. My Mom's death was sudden last year and was a very difficult time in our lives. My Dad's illness lasted several months and even though we had some time to prepare for the inevitable outcome, it is still difficult to believe that he is gone. He is with my Mom now and no longer suffering and that is perhaps the greatest comfort of all. Chris Haas
