  5. Well I just got back home from my annual Spring Preview Stage show that we put on with the band I direct. Unfortunately this year the economy struck hard so we were only able to get Prime Time Brass to perform besides my marching band. I asked the guys to play for a while and they did just that, they put on an hour and a half show. These Guys Rocked the place. That's not what was classy or impressive on their part. At the end of their show they always do a patriotic ending. They added a special twist to it. They do a medley of service songs as part of their closer and during this they asked for the service men and women who have served or know someone who has or is serving to stand when they play their department of the services medley. This was awesome and I was choked up watching the people stand when they did this. The class they portrayed while doing this was awesome. They did not need to do this to sell the crowd, believe me they did that an hour and 15 minutes prior when they started their PTB NOLA set of music. Way to go guys, I can never thank you enough!
  6. Congratulations Sabers on aquiring the services of Chris Calhoun. I have had the pleasure of being involved in the same projects with Chris in the past. He is a terrific gentleman with a lot of heart and knowledge of the activity.

  9. I have done a lot of work with Yamaha this year with equipment and also a Percussion clinic. I also know that thier service after the sale on thier equipment is unmatched by any other manufacturer. THis is just one of many reasons why Yamaha is a great company to do business with. BTW, The set is a Yamaha Stage Custom set.
  10. Don, maybe you did waste your time. Yeah you gave me that and we were in the process of trying to do a complete history of the Crusaders and we asked the alumni to give us what ever they had. So far to be honest all we received was stuff from you, Tom Peashey, Gary Weatherall and Bob Dunham. That's not nearly enough to create a book Vince Bruni did a heck of a job putting that book together on the silver anniversary and to not have received very much more info for the corps from then on, was to me a slap in the face from most of the alumni. One of the major things we try to do is to tell the current corps stuff about the history and what it means to be a part of the Crusader namesake. Do you know what helps with that Don? Support for the corps from the alumni wich to be honest we do not get. In my past experiences with other corps I have been with, the alumni showed support for the corps and the corps gave the support right back. It is a two way street. You ask how does a corps treat it's alumni, I ask how does the alumni treat their corps? We do not get that support at all. So Don, instead of bashing me or the corps, show support for your corps! As for the Hall of Fame, Debbie received it a few years ago for her support and time with the corps. Debbie, and all Crusader Alumni you are always welcome to stop by and say hello to us when you can. The door is always open!
