  1. Well, like many have already stated, the pit must listen back to the corps. I wouldn't want pits to be grounded on the rear sideline. I believe a good pit can bring much emotion to the audience. I think smartest way to use amplification in Front Ensembles is to ASSIST what is being played.
  2. I totally agree. However, this site is mostly people who, YOU GUESSED IT, haven't marched drum corps and don't understand. In case your wondering, no, I don't believe or care about the poll asking that question. Don't let that stop ya! Flame away!
  3. When I told my cousin about drum corps, he crapped his pants. It probably didn't help he was only six months old...
  4. haha right on. I'm a big fan of Phantom 03 wakeups. If anyone is looking for a windows version of an Alarm clock: http://www.download.com/Alarm-Clock/3000-2...tml?tag=lst-0-1 you can choose different music for each day.
  5. I would say definitely stay in shape! Don't put you instrument down. Ever.
  6. You try. It's as simple as that. I know so many people that ask that same question. They never try-out, and now they will never march. Don't make that same mistake. About the time issues with school work, etc... It's all about how you look at it. You have to be passionate with what you are doing. Not just with drum corps, but with everything in life. Everything matters. If you figure out that you have more passion for drum corps, that's great. If it's the other way around, then thats just the way things end up for you. It may end up that you want to be totally committed to your DCA corps. Anything can happen. It doesn't hurt to try-out. Good luck, Tony
  7. Pat Fitz-Gibbon and Mickey Hartzog are definitely up there.
  8. Stole the words right out of my mouth... Well said, man.
