The problem is both price and the number of flights. I saved over $100 flying to Buffalo and was able to fly there after work on Thursday (not an option to Rochester).

What are you talking about? The major SCV staff changes were 2006 (when they began to rebound).

But why is that a good reason? The only two major staff turnovers for perennial finalist corps that I remember are SCV in 2006 and Madison in 2003. Both of these changes resulted in higher placements. Is there a staff change that you are referencing that resulted in a falloff in placement?

Does anyone know how to purchase tickets to the Thunder of Drums show if you live out of town? They list a phone number on the DCI website but I've been calling it since tickets went on sale and it goes directly to voice mail. I left a message but have not received a return call. There is a P.O. Box listed but I don't know who to make the check out to or if there is a handling charge. Anyone have any contacts in Mankato?

It's hard to argue with momentum but you think a corps that was 6th in semis at last year's championships is a LOCK for top 5? I don't think any of the corps in last year's 4-6 six spots would be a surprise at 7 OR at 3. Competition will be brutal this year.

In the promotional video that they just released, I clearly see six corps: Blue Devils The Cadets The Cavaliers Santa Clara Vanguard Madison Scouts Phantom Regiment I think I see two others: Glassmen at :08 Bridgemen at :19 I just believe that it would be somewhat mean to put a corps in the promotion and then they don’t show up in the show.

Boston 2002 and PR 2003. I didn’t cry when I saw Star 1991 live but several times since then on DVD after the cross has dissolved and then reappears… (wait give me a second) that really gets me. Oh and Madison 2007. Not really the show but at the December camp when they played You’ll Never Walk Alone and Ice Castles. I was so proud and excited for my son who had worked in band and all-age corps with one single goal in mind, not to win DCI, not to march any Junior corps but to be a Madison Scout. I haven’t been to any camps since then but I predict a lot of emotion this summer.

Crown, SCV and BD were in my top five but it looks like they are in most everybody's top five. They haven't received many votes in any of the polls.

I don't think your points are statistically correct 1. Lets say group 1 votes for MyCorps 1999 only, group 2 votes MyCorps 1989 only and group 3 votes for MyCorps 1979 only. If there are 500 people in each group and the 10th highest vote count is 800. MyCorps is not shown. If we all vote for all three, each show will have at least 1,500 and one of MyCorps shows get in. 2. The results show that there are many more fans of that big seven. The block voters of the other four WILL vote for four more shows (will they all only vote for each other?) along with all of the fans that put in the multiple entry corps. One or two of the seven might not make it statistically but just using this thread as a sample group, they all get in.

I saw a high school do a Wicked show last year and a male trumpet player had a solo... "I'm Not That Girl." I felt really sorry for him.

I voted SCV! I loved them all. Since it's four different corps, BOY, would it have been a great finals if those corps picked those shows in the same year!!
