  2. If there is anything to take over next year from Hickaman......
  3. One thing nobody has mentioned, but it's been in the back of my mind since they first announced this venture. Does anyone think they may fill their holes with members of the DCI corps for this last push to championships? Can they even do that per DCA rules?
  4. I just feel really bad for the members who had bought airline tickets to fly home or to school Sunday after Finals. Hope they could find housing with one of the other corps for the balance of the week.
  5. Revolution withdraws from Indianapolis Championship events
  6. Also realize that, even if you are the BEST snare at your high school, there will be many more BEST snares there from their high schools AND colleges trying out for these two corps. I seem to remember a few years ago when Revo had 40+ people trying our for the 8-9 spots in their snare line alone. Stay flexible and be willing to march any spot in the drumline. A year on bass or tenors in a good Open Class line will be great experience if you want to move on to World Class someday. Staying home all summer does you no good at all. AND PRACTICE, PRACTICE, PRACTICE!
  7. Actually, the majority of DCP fans have been strongly demanding just the opposite of what you are asking for for years. Judge the performances of the corps for THAT NIGHT. What happened on Saturday should have absolutely no bearing on what scores corps get on Sunday. If a corps has a big ensemble tear, or their drums are just really off, or they have no energy in their show from the staff over-rehearsing them, than their score should drop 2.5 or more. Stuff happens and it should be reflected in the scores. Kind of like going to a double header between two baseball teams, 'A' and 'B'. 'A' wins an exciting game 1 by a score of 5-4 in 12 innings, and then it's players lose focus and wind up on the short end of game 2 by a score of 17-2. I've seen that happen many times, even to the perennial top-dogs. Maybe it needs to happen more often in drum corps.
  8. It's Lee Carlson. He has been bagging on the Cavaliers all season. Guess he needs to actually watch the show again to see that it's not the bag of crap they had on June 18th. Hopefully for them, he won't be judging on 8/11.
  9. Not true. Both Blue Saints and Les Stentors arer competing again in DCI this year.
  10. Seems it is now acceptable to completely bash a perennial top-3 corps like Cavaliers when they are having one off year, but it is supposedly unacceptable to point out that maybe the lack of competition the last two weeks has skewed the scoring for a corps that has not been in finals for a quite a few years. Same thing happened to Madison last summer, when they were ranked 5th while back on the east coast with no close competition, but came in 10th at Indy. Reality sucks.
  11. Reality finally caught up with the Crossmen tonight. Guess top 12 is looking very iffy now.
  12. Should have just mailed his scores in..........
  13. Obviously, Sal Adamo was at a different show than the other judges tonight when Cavaliers performed. Kind of like a Sesame Street episode. Which of these numbers doesn't belong: 14.2-------14.3------13.1------14.3------14.4
  14. I was there, and I can see it Andy's way. Opinions are like.......never mind.
  15. 60 pages of new drill going in today. There will be many changes between now and August. And they have a VERY experienced member base this year to handle it.
  16. I can tell you they picked up a lot of real drum corps studs with lots of experience from other top 12 corps this year. It was tough to make this corps this year. They should be really solid in all areas.
  17. Still too early, but here's a 20% reliability prediction: 1) Cavies 2) BD 3) Crown 4) Cadets 5) SCV 6) Boston 7) Phantom 8) Bluecoats 9) Madison 10) Spirit 11) Blue Knights 12/13) Glassmen/Academy (toss up) 14) Troopers 15) Blue Stars 16) Crossmen 17) Pacific Crest 18) Colts 19) Teal Sound 20) Oregon Crusaders 21) Mandarins 22) BD B 23) Jersey Surf 24) SCVC 25) Cascades
