  1. You can already sort of do that on the 3GS.
  2. Yet is will never get any credit on "the countdown". One of the best shows in the history of DCI, and it would never get enough vote to be seen. I guess FN and DVDs are good for that. The extra exposure on the countdown would be welcomed!
  3. Wow. I always LOVED those jackets. Frankly, all corps jackets look "dorky". So what. You've got one that looks great. I do agree about the heat being a problem though.
  4. ....or graduates... Or brides and grooms... Or anyone who wants to buy them.
  5. Nope. The GE will be taken care of by the design. That takes planning. If the show design isn't good, the GE will never happen.
  6. I agree with you. I think I heard a comment on FN that they intentionally chose to put that run on the mallets. I think it would be so much more impressive sounding in the hornline as well.
  7. Actually, I lived in Mandeville, Covington, and Hammond until just after Katrina and Rita... Them some good peoples!
  8. South of the Mason - Dixon line. I don't think they're as big on writing. Maybe they're more into the shows and then forget to write reviews?
  9. It's like the movie "Strictly Ballroom"! I just got done watching that and it reminded me of DCI.
  10. Heh, well Blue Devils could lose a couple of times to different corps, but not at the same show. That would make it more interesting!
  11. ... and this is NOT a science. It's not always if A then B...
  12. That was one of the two years we did that. The other year was '90. I loved, LOVED '89. Actually, I loved Phantom in '89, but didn't in '90.
  13. That would be scary! Didn't we see that in the movie "Drum Line???" Not very cutting edge!
  14. LOL. I thought the theme for Garfield in '88 was "more Copland"! They were great!
  15. Nah, you'd have to go back a little further than that. There were quite a few themed shows before 1990, but I get what you're saying. It just started a little further back than that. Phantom, BK, Cavies, SCV, Star, Freelancers, Suncoast Sound, Sky Ryders, Dutch Boy, Spirit, Garfield, etc all had themes to their shows.
  16. That show was considered boring by most fans of the day and a down year for Garfield. It was an experimental year, but they were a really great corps and that show made me consider marching with them. It was an educational year for all.
  17. Yes, learned is a word. If you were in Britain, you would have said "learnt." Both are correct. Carry on...
  18. Yes, and you'd be using every slide on every note. That would be really fun!
  19. I'm not really disagreeing with you, but I wonder... Does drum corps really need to be high art?
  20. I didn't think they were particularly dirty compared to the other corps. I did notice that they march more than I originally thought.
  21. Well, now you have Glassmen and Mandarins... Everyone can relax...
