  2. With a major snow storm slamming the Northeast this past weekend, The Bushwackers were forced to cancel their much anticipated camp weekend and head up to Holyoke Mass on a "Sunday only" schedule. Click here to view the whole story

  4. As a late entry into the Kingston St. Patty's Day Parade, the Bushwackers added a weekend to their rehearsal schedule to get out of doors, shake off the "cabin fever", and trek up to chilly Kingston for their great parade! Click here for the full story and pics
  5. So, I guess I'll just take that part out of my sig. :P I barely get on here any more except to post announcements.

The Bushwackers are pleased to announce that the next 2 camps will be held in the music department of Sparta High School in Sparta, New Jersey, just minutes from Bushwacker Hall in Franklin New Jersey. This is temporary while the corps awaits zoning approval from the town of Franklin. This approval will take place in mid March and only affects 2 Saturday rehearsals. Click here for directions to Sparta High School The bus for Sunday's parade in Kingston will leave from a school parking lot in Franklin NJ by 9:30 am on Sunday. More info on the location later. Thanks to alumnus Elana Franklin, Sparta's band director, and John Hannigan for making this setback a "minor" one.
  7. The weekend of February 17 and 18 saw the first full camp of the Bushwackers in its new home, "Bushwacker Hall", in Franklin in snow covered Sussex County New Jersey. The new corps hall offers a wealth of amenities for a drum corps, plenty of rehearsal space for all sections, Storage for the equipment in a controlled environment, sleeping quarters for out of town members and a spacious office suite from which to run the corps. Please click here for the full story February 17-18 The defending DCA brass champion Bushwackers Horn Line and the world famous Bushwackers Percussion Section will break in the new Corps Hall with a 2 day camp weekend on February 17th and 18th. Rehearsals will begin at 10am and will end at 5pm. Lunch will be provided, and limited lodging is available for out of state members. This is an open rehearsal, and all are invited to attend and check out the corps, as we continue learning music for our 2007 production "Around the Town", featuring the music of Leonard Bernstein. Directions and information on the corps can be found on our website at http://www.bushwackers.org. February 25 The defending DCA colorguard champion Bushwackers Colorguard will have their first rehearsal of the new year at the new Corps Hall in Franklin, NJ on February 25th. Rehearsal will begin at 10am and will end at 5pm. Like the brass/percussion rehearsal, this is an open rehearsal and all are invited.   12. That's right, we are moving! With the help of an alumnus of the corps, The Bushwackers are proud to announce that the corps will be moving into our very OWN HOME in Sussex County, New Jersey. The new corps hall will feature ample indoor rehearsal facilities for all sections of the corps, lodging facilities for out-of-towners, office space, and plenty of winter storage for our top-notch equipment and uniforms. This building provides a new base of operations for the Bushwackers...and our first official "corps hall" since the mid 90's. The move also brings the corps closer to towns in Central and Eastern Pennsylvania, Western New Jersey, and the Southern Tier of New York! Please click here for the full story.   18. I can assure you that the lines were pretty much non-existant when we perfomed. Heck, it was difficult to just set up opening set. But I watched a video of prelims back at the hotel and #### if we didn't hit some great forms despite it all.
  19. as for moving part of the weekend inside, if i wanted to play indoors and not move, i would join a concert band. when you sign up for a corps, you know what you're getting into. be prepared for anything and suck it up.
  20. bad idea: parade worst idea: require I&E from every corps best idea ever: "require that corps feed their members at Dinosaur Barbecue, or at least have one huge picnic catered by them?" i thought the event was awesome overall, but as a marching member, i did not have to deal with most of the things that have been complained about in this thread....
