  1. Anyone have 2-4 tickets in 240? I'll buy them right now.
  2. That's why they are in the boonies. They are really going to surprise everyone.
  3. I'm jaded AF. If the Cadets were OK, I'd say they sounded good. With out hype. This is what a top 5 corps sounds like at the beginning of the season.
  4. Jay is a super great person. A staight shooter and "Do Everything" kind of guy. Every Corps should have a Jay on their staff.
  5. Working harder than you ever thought you could physicaly. Learning things faster than you ever had to mentally. caring about someting so deeply emotionally. Evolving as a person. Evolving as a performer. Making friendships and memories that will last a life time. I have no idea what you're talking about. 🙂
  6. Yes, several kids in a corps I worked with were on insulin. The medicine was kept in the food truck refriderator. Also, some medications were kept with the medical staff who were on for the whole tour.
  7. Yes, it was really snowing. Remember the stadium was almost a dome which caused a terrible echo. So, the stands were well covered.
  8. 1982 Montreal DCI Finals. Snow flurries. Good thing the Cadets uniforms were made of wool then. But, the metal mouthpieces stung as they touched our lips.
  9. Thank You Bluecoats! More class from an already classy organization.
  10. The hand jester ( Sort of bring it, I can take it) Happened after the booing and yelling had already started. The idiots were already Ballistic. I was in the stadium. Lot of people seem to forget that part due to their allegiance with the corps. (Really? Okay?)
  11. Let me tell the story correctly. As best I know it. Please do some research I may forget somethings. - Cavaliers finish marching their show. Cavaliers director tells G.Hop ( Cadets DIRECTOR at the time) there's no hash marks on the field. -Hop says thanks, I'll go ask Tony DiCarlo(show coordinator) why there are no hash marks on the field. (Drum corps back then marched complex field show majority of there alotted time) -The show coordinator tells Hop the field crew forgot to re-line the field after the break. After getting approval the Show coordinator tells Hop to hold to corps off the field, we'll line the field for the last couple of corps. -The uninformed Crowd, assumed Hop told the Cadets not march their show until the field is lined. DCI told The Cadets to stay off the field. Causing a delay. -The crowd went January 6th 2021 on The Cadets.(minus the violence) -Others who were there and may be closer to the Cadets, will give the story behind the story. ( I was there from may Spring training to the last show in August.)
  12. I had that DVD. The corps was great, the DVD was crap. I was on tour with them that summer. As I recall, The video person quit at the end after the idiot boo-fest in Pasadena. I think the corps had the get the data from the video person and piece it together.
  13. Senior corps deiced to wait this corona virus thing out. Kids dying to sharpen their Brass, Percussion and Guard skills deiced to join a DCA corps. DCA corps are better than ever. Drum Corps starved fans flock to DCA shows DCA enjoys a boom year that carries over for years to come Fans get their Drum Corps Fix. Kids sharpen their skills some even stay with their new home in DCA Summer 2020 turns out not so bad. Fred delays wedding plans until after DCA Championships
  14. Member corps vote to cancel 2020 DCI Tour by Drum Corps International We know this is a difficult time for everyone as we all respond to the COVID-19 crisis. The events worldwide have impacted Drum Corps International as well, forcing cancellation of the 2020 Summer Tour as of Wednesday, March 25. DCI’s voting membership unanimously reached the difficult decision with great regret after thorough evaluation of numerous factors affecting participant health and safety, travel requirements, logistics, venue availability, and other associated issues. The membership also agreed that in order to preserve the opportunity for this year’s class of age-outs, performers will receive additional eligibility based on existing age requirements with a one-year extension. Above all else, the entire DCI community remains unified in its commitment to preserve the health, safety, and well-being of everyone involved in our activity. We share in the profound disappointment of the thousands of remarkable performers who will be unable to take the field this summer on the 2020 DCI Tour. We encourage every one of them to continue to commit fully to the pursuit of their personal best. We sincerely hope that corps members everywhere will continue to embrace the values taught through participation in the marching arts to remain motivated until we are able to perform together under the stadium lights once again. We are extremely grateful for everyone who continues to support our participating corps — from the incredible teachers, designers, judges and administrators to the uniform, instrument and marching music products companies. We are fortunate to have a nationwide network of Tour Event Partners, band directors, schools and performance venues who keep the lights shining bright on our performers. Our most heartfelt appreciation also goes out to the countless staff, event staff, volunteers, health and wellness providers, and to DCI’s vast family of fans around the world, along with countless parents and alumni who have always been the unconditional allies of our performers. DCI and all participating organizations will shift focus from tour preparation to addressing the sizable operational and financial challenges resulting from these extraordinary circumstances. In the coming weeks and months, DCI and the corps will work to develop the plans necessary to return to a full schedule in 2021. We will provide information soon on ways to help ensure that drum corps emerges from this crisis stronger than ever. Together, we will
