I went to finals from 85- 98. Planned to go in 99 but my wife was due with our first August 6. Five kids later I haven't been back to finals since. Although I'm on my way to having my own Corp.

Even if gas does return to $3.00 a gallon, the corps may need to look at restructuring. Perhaps they will need to reduce the size of the corps to drop one coach bus. Touring locally would save fuel but may create more suprises when all the corps finally get together in the second half of the season.

If fuel costs stay as they are next year do you think nationally touring drum corps have much of a chance to continue?

[i saw/heard the Cadets thrre times. Twice live and once in the theatre. Early, middle and late in the season. The narration did not bother me at all. When the narration was supposed to be the prominent thought it was, when other sections were supposed to have the forefront they did. Just really enjoyed the entire presentation.

In NJ it was when the picture caught up to the sound feed during the end of Pacific crest. Oh Yeah Surf

Place the blame on the contest coordinator. He didn't insure that the field was properly lined as he should have. Too busy shaking hands.

Oh yes and I'm very big at first communions too!!

Are you really suggesting that DCI "fixes" the outcome? I just find that so hard to beleive. There are way to many judges with ethics and integrity to allow that to happen.

You need to get some pictures of the these guys up. I remember faces but the names don't always stick.

That's a great point. For some, Drum Corps introduces new composers to a wide audience. Secondly, one of my favorite things about a corps show is that every 13 minutes or so something different will be happening. A change of style or concept. WE can't expect Drum Corp to stay the same while the world around has changed dramatically. Drum Corps these days is like a buffet. If you don't like what's next in line there will be something else very soon that you will enjoy.

Does that mean that only college professors are professional educators and those of us that teach in a k-12 setting are not professional?
