  1. I believe that Spirit also had some kind of rock band trio in their pit 2 yrs ago.
  2. I knew there was a reason I liked you. Always great to meet another beer snob. :)
  3. Someone needs to lend Mr. Court a copy of the Ernesto year. :) We went on the field in 20mph winds with rain blowing sideways. I didnt even bother buying the DVD because all you could see in some of the shots was a blurry mess due to the raindrops on the lenses.
  4. Bump! Practice again this Thursday! See you there!!
  5. As I am sure Tom meant to mention, we still have openings in every section. Well....maybe not contra but that is negotiable. If you have ever thought about marching with GCS, this is the year to do it. Come on out to one of our weekly Thursday night rehearsals and check us out. Details can be found on the website....www.gulfcoastsound.org We have already made a good jump on the season and things are only going to get better. So come on out!!
  6. Wow...I am truly at a loss for words. Cozy I am so glad I was able to finally buy you a beer at finals this past season. It was a pleasure to hang with you......its just not gonna be the same without you there. :(
  7. I am pretty sure I sent Bill a PM at little while back inviting him out to GCS practice as I thought it said somewhere in one of his posts that he was living near the Houston area. I may be mistaken though.....
  8. Keep me posted. I might try to ###### up that Kanstul euph at some point. Gotta see how the finances work out.
  9. Dont do it James! I want it but cant afford it right now with a kid on the way.
  10. What about that Kanstul G Euph? Is that one staying in the closet?
  11. So far it seems that everybody made it thru ok. Still a few members without power. A few shingles missing here and there and some fence damage for a few members. All in all we seemed to be very lucky. If you see any of the video from Galveston and Port Arthur it is just amazing. Its very hard to believe the amount of damage sustained in those areas. Galveston took a very hard hit and there are many people there who have lost everything....houses, cars, boats....its just amazing to see the pictures on the local news. Especially when you see the video and recognize the areas since we have been involved in the Galveston Mardi Gras festivities every year....its hard to believe that some of those landmarks that you have marched past so many times are no longer there.
  12. You mean 16 foot seawall. Or 17 ft depending on which local station is talking.
  13. Predictions along the coastal communities and in Galveston are for a 20 ft storm surge and winds at around 120mph. Its not going to be fun for any of those folks down south that decided to ride it out. The north and northwest communities where I and quite a few of the GCS members reside are predicted to have 60-70 mph winds and about 8 inches of rain. Its going to make tonight interesting for sure.
  14. Thanks for the well wishes. I think most of us are as ready as we can be. They have been evacuating the south side most of the day and traffic is a mess....though not as bad as it was when Rita came in 3 years ago. The equipment is stored as well as it can be and hopefully we wont have any issues to deal with on that front once this is over. I have a few more things to do around the house tomorrow to batten down the hatches and prepare to ride this out. Maybe one more trip to the liquor store tomorrow for last minute supplies.....anyone know where you can get a battery powered blender?
