  1. Does anyone else think this sounds A LOT like the show announcement for Cavaliers' XY production of 2011? '...discovery of natural ability or by making extreme sacrifices, human beings are individually and collectively capable of super-human achievements.' It's been done, Crown :-( I was hoping for something a little more ground-breaking.
  2. Honestly, after watching several VERY lackluster shows from the 2012 season: Boston Crusaders, Glassmen, Blue Knights, Spirit, Troopers, Academy, Colts, Crossmen... etc etc etc. I honestly think if everything was 'even' and such, Broken Arrow could have placed as high as 8th - 12th IMO. This band executes at a level that is EASILY equivalent to most drum corps, and BETTER than several. Flame me if you wish, but to ignore the obvious is just close-minded!
  3. Not exactly sure if THIS is what I'd want showcasing "this is drum corps" :-( ...it looks like Blast! on a Wal-Mart budget. LOL!
  4. Check it out: http://carolinacrown.org/web/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=476%3A11-show-announcement&catid=19%3Acarolina-crown LOOKS LIKE A GREAT SHOW!!!!!!
  5. NEVER did I say that an old arranger = old arrangements being played again... I DID say 1) no to old arrangers being brought back and 2) no to old charts being hopelessly revamped. (Which agreed Guidry tried that too, but VERY much unlike those before him!) And as for Guidry not being able to write for a hornline? WTF. ...umm has anyone heard Broken Arrow's hornline?? Pretty sure they'd chew up the Crossmen & spit them out. The fact of the matter is the Crossmen struggle b/c they're young and inexperienced. I don't believe that Guidry's ability to write was the error, I believe the fact that a large percentage of Crossmen kids are still learning how to move and play could be somewhat to blame?! lol Now, with that said let's continue on....
  6. I'm personally very sad to see this talented arranger leave the corps! I think the style and interest he brough to the Crossmen gave them a unique and exciting edge over others. Secondly, I know from experience that consistency in a design staff and administration is what makes the program strong. Change ISN'T always good... As for let's bring back, (insert old arranger here): ____________________ . Really!? No. Let's try something NEW, if we're gonna make a change, and let those from the past remain past! Crossmen, keep pushing the envelope b/c we REALLY don't want to hear Count Bubba again....or Birdland.....or......yea you get the point!
  7. I can honestly say the last corps to clean house was from a little city called Fort Mills, SC. They've had some success after that ugly event...
  8. I personally LOVE the new ending. It's the "Se2ond Chance" bringing this program and last season's stellar program to a complete finish.... After all last year was just a dream state and now we've come full circle. <3 it so much. Kudos Crown, gave me chills!!!
  9. HAHA Nope THEY didn't and I love that they DIDN'T because they're the SH*@ like that :) ....as for this craptastic post, I've had about enough fun debating for one night. CAROLINA CROWN KEEP BEING CLASSY! '...in my mind I'm going to Carolina!'
  10. ...well when it's OUR ###es our there marching in 112 degree weather, you're darn skippy it's about "WE" not ME b/c believe it or not we're still a family. And I'm sorry but I HIGHLY doubt mediocrity is EVEN a part of corps' language these days. Hate to say it but we've come quite a long ways from....well VFW :) no disrespect but this is how WE do it now, respect it or.... GOLDEN RULE: (it never gets old) If you don't have anything nice to say (or positive) then...SHUT THE F*#@ UP!!!!!!!!
  11. ...let me clear my throat one more time. These corps DON'T care what you think!!! Do we hold tradition at heart? Yes. In fact, we hold it to heart SO much we can remember this is an ACTIVITY its to be ENJOYED and if this is how these kids wanna throw down then awesome. Get off their nuts and let them enjoy it, save the negative bullcrap for when you're playing canasta boring each other with stories of "..back when I" Again, the GOLDEN RULE: If you don't have anything nice to say (or positive)...the SHUT THE F#*& UP!!!!!!!!!!
  12. ...it's post like these that make me HATE the "I marched back in 1910 and we did it THIS way, so if you want me to like you, or buy your stuff, it has to be THIS certain way" I'll just say it, the youth of the activity is getting pretty fed up with it. Don't like us, we don't care!!!!!! We're not out there sweating our butts off for EVERYONE to like us! We're out there because WE have pride in what we're doing. We're out there because we're PROUD of ourselves, and maybe what we're doing we think is the way it SHOULD be done. NOT what you think, NOT what you did back when you march, but what we're doing NOW. Like it or dont, pay to see it or dont. Golden Rule: If you can't say anything nice...then SHUT THE F&@# UP. :) God Bless You Everyone.
  13. I'm curious if anyone else feels the visual book is somewhat....well.....just a lot of fast motion in the same place!? I watch and it's as if the design utilizes next to nothing of the field, except, the intro/opener. What's going on Phantom?LOVELY sound as always, good drummin' Rennick, but visual is just kinda _/\____/\__________/\____________________________.
  14. Two words: OH MY GOD I LOVE THIS EFFIN SHOW. hmm, okay so more than two words, but you get the point.
