  1. In no particular order... Returning to the field as a performer in June after years as a staff member, swearing I would never go back on the field again. Watching the corps get its swagger back, thanks to lots of new blood and some persistent vets. Participating in what may well be the fastest retreat ever. Meeting the folks from MBI and partying with the ones who stayed at the hotel after Finals. A well-deserved win, my friends. Performing my final show and being content with saying goodbye to the activity that has given me so much over the past 24 years. Last, but by no means least, thinking about our dear brother Rich, who would have LOVED this season!
  2. And that, folks, is how you get a Renegade to buy you a beer. Eric, one on me.
  3. Hi, everyone. I'm looking for a copy of SCV's 1994 semis performance. I had a copy of it, but the years (and several moves) have rendered it missing. I would be forever indebted if anyone had a copy they might be able to sell me. Thanks!
  4. There's a thought/complete sentence in there somewhere...and to think, I used to believe in Santa Claus. Just for clarification, I don't think CF should be brought back (diminishing returns play a factor...there's no way I'd be able to top Tigger!), but for people to get all crazed because it's disrespectful to other people in the activity is a bit unrealistic. In no way did we ever demean the other groups that were - or ever have been - at DCA or DCI. We wanted to get a group of drum corps yahoos together from a bunch of different corps and have some fun. As far as I'm concerned, mission accomplished. So we didn't play Tchaikovsky...so what? And if you're worried about what your kids see, why on earth would you bring them to I&E in the first place?? Let's be realistic...there will be, and always has been, alcohol aplenty at I&E, and some people can be a bit crazed when blitzed. Don't imply that something that CF did was the only thing at I&E that might offend your tender sensibilities. Do I think CF should be brought back? No. But if it is, am I going to get all bent out of shape about it? Nope.
  5. I applaud you for your confidence in your corps. I have confidence in mine as well. Guess we'll have to wait and see how it all shakes out.
  6. Shameless plugs are a beautiful thing... ...said the 2002 Renegades bari soloist. ^_^ My vote goes to Pooh Bear. The guy's a motherf***er of a player.
  7. Agreed. Good review. (my apologies for taking this thread off-topic)
  8. Agreed. It gets no better than that. Honorable mentions (please pardon my obvious West Coast bias) :) 74 Muchachos - Pictures of Spain 75 Madison - Slaughter on 10th Ave. 78 SCV - Overture to a New Era 84 SCV - Fanfare and Allegro 86 BD - Channel One Suite 88 BD - Happy Days are Here Again 92 VK _ Magical Mystery Tour 92 SCV - Tradition 93 BD - Open Wide 96 Madison - A Mis Abuelos 97 SCV - Lonely Town/On the Waterfront 99 SCV - The Canyon 2000 BD - Taxi Driver
  9. Yes, as a drum major, along with Dan Ray. Can anybody else confirm please ? Confirmed, yo. Gulke and Brandon Wilson (now a fellow Renegade) were DMs for the Blue Devils B corps when I was one of the DMs for the SCV Cadets in 92. James and I both moved up to our respective A corps in 93. Of course, he had a *little* more success with his corps than I did, but that's neither here nor there. :P
  10. Heh... 4 posts. Anyone, who within their first few posts, posts something like this....annonymously -- is someone we already know on the board as another screen name and they just don't have the guts to post their thoughts as someone we know. ::yawn:: Whatever. What I really want is someone to challenge me to a game of video football. b**bs You're on, yo. Winner buys a case o' beer. :) (and yes, I DID mean to put "winner" in there...so that way I can get my butt kicked and still come out alright) Of course, we could always go old school and play some NES Kung Fu. B)
  11. So what have we learned, class? We've learned that Low Notes has used a majority of his/her posts to take shots at the Renegades. We've learned that Low Notes, for whatever reason, has decided not to sign his/her posts. We've learned that taking potshots at a corps and not having the cojones to sign your posts makes you a troll, plain and simple. ::closes book:: Class dismissed.
  12. Thanks Dave, that clears a lot of things up... heh! b**bs Yeahyeahyeah... :P
