So i have just read all six pages, instead of working, oh well, catch up on stuff later in the day. Like everyone else here, i have played on a few different instrument brands. I would prefer to play a kanstul contra grande, i did in 2001 Sky, love the horn, but i won a championship playing a 4valve dynasty contra. To me, even though the Kanstul is easier to sound good on, design wise, it is bell heavy, and and a little awkward holding it sometimes. The dynasty, did not sound as godd as the kanstul, but at least for me, along with a g&w stainless steel mouthpiece, stayed in tune, fairly comfortable alsmot all of the time. Being a much more confortable horn, i could play better because i was not concentrating on other things. I blended very well with the rest of the hornline, a hornline with mixed instruments, dyansty and dynasty deg instruments. As everyone knows, the Sunrisers won Class A, and won High Horns, with mixed instruments. I think it all depends on the player and the instruction. It just helps if you are compatible with your equipment, my opinion.

I don't know about you guys, besides being a competitive corps, i also perform with a mini corps and an alumni corps. For me, it's more drum corps in my life, and it's different drum corps. Different people, different music, different mindset. PLus it keeps me playing during the off season of the competitive season.

getting paid to march, new concept for me to explore, i have known some people to march in parade bands that were not part of a drum corps organization, and they were paid to do that, even some community bands that just happen to do parades sometimes pay their members/players. I guess it's different when the parent organization is a drum corps. Just use to paying the corps dues money, not the other way around. -

Thank youy larry for getting me involved with the Sunriser Famliy -
To all Past and Present Sunrisers, Thank you and Congratulations. The class A championship that has been won by the 2007 edition of the Sunrisers could not have done it without you. Let me explain why I feel this way. The journey, the quest for this championship did not start last fall in my opinion. It started over 5 years ago. With the corps being inactive for a couple of years, the members of the corps who helped bring the corps back started the Journey with the Sunriser MiniCorps. With out the peeople who were involved to make that happen, this past weekend would not have happened. The second place finish in 2003 in class A would not have been possible for those persons either. The continued growth of the Sunrisers over the past few years still originates from those few people. I want to thank them. For all members of the Sunrisersin the past five years, who may or may not be with the corps currently, Thank You. If it was not for your time spent with the corps, to help keep the Sunrisers on the competition, and the parading streets, We, the current corps would not be wearing medals to our respective jobs and schools. Everyone involved in keeping the Sunriser name alive, whether you were a parent giving your kid a ride, a wife or a husband, giving up your time so your spous could march in the corps, opening your house, your cars, for rides, providing housing and food, making alterations on uniforms, helping someone out with dues, instructing for free, driving a few hours after friday night practice to pick up a horn because a new person joined the corp that night, I thank you and congratulate you on a job well done last weekend. Because of the everyone involved with the Sunriser family over the past years, last weekend would not have been possible. You all deserved to be on that field for retreat and receiving a medal for helping keep this great Drum Corps Alive. From the bottom of my heart, Thank You

To the Entire Fusion Organization, and to the ones that I personally consider family, Congratulations on a job well done, You are a corps to keep a look out for in the future, See you under the lights Sunday Night in 2008. To my knowledge, i do not think there has been a corps in history that has accomplished as much as you have in your inaugural year of existence. Congrautaltions.

I am a little biased towards the Kilties, So my vote is for the kilties making finals.
