Computer-generated Drill Design

I stood on a field at Boston University in 1991 between 10PM and 2AM, and I not only participated, I watched George Zingali create the Cross to Cross in 4 hours, no pencil, no paper. Go back and check out the last 30 seconds of that show.... Put that in your computer... and watch it blow up !!!!! -

What a quality rehearsal we had yesterday. Chris Tomsa really broke down MacArthur Park for us and brought it to life. Chris, it was pleasure to meet you yesterday. The Defenders hope to make you proud on Nov. 20.. Thanks -

One of the greatest horn lines of all- time........imo. Alden -
I dont remember the loss to Cavies, but the loss to the Scouts no one who marched will ever forget. Our Fearless Leader, Bobby (Que) Hullett, kicked all the tempos up 10 to 15 bpm. Imagine playing that music at around 230 BPM. Needless to say Bobby finished the show a little ahead of the corps that night. Love ya Bobby, Alden

1991 Star, We did a lot of breathing in the horn arch or circle, but the single most effective technique we used on the field was........AGAIN!!!!! ABB

Scooter, I also do the high mark time. Josh, Good luck, I have put some air through the horn with the mute in and I have only broke one window :). All kidding aside, I did an hour last night, I love that mute. Alden

Josh, I posted a while ago on this, I recently purchased a sshh mute (www.sshhmute.com) from dillion music in Jersey (www.dillionmusic.com.), The size I purchased was for Bass Trombone, it fits my Bb marching King and my G marching Dynasty. I have three small kids and practice at night in the living room with no problems, besides my wife !!!! Good resistance, tunes well and its really light. Any questions let me know. Alden

Corps duties outside of marching and playing
aldenblaho replied to Mello Dude's topic in DCI World Class Corps Discussions
When I marched 89-91, Field crew was by invitation only. Perks were you cut any food line anytime, after painting, we stretched while most of the corps ran . Downside, painting three fields at the ### crack of dawn, or worst soaping a parking lot!!! ABB -
What an awesome day!!! For some reason I was a bit nervous standing in the hallway waiting to go in, but when we put the horns up for Divergence it was all a blur!!! I thank the Defenders for allowing me to join their (Holy) family. I had a great time this year and look forward to many many more. Kudos to the Management, Staff and members for a great night!!!!! For all of you out there who want to play, march and belong to a up and coming organization, Defenders is your corps!!! Check us out January 17, 2010 at our open house or go to www.defendersalumni.org. Alden

I was wondering if anyone was using this particular mute. I have emailed the company to see what size I should order, I have a Deg Baritone (2 Valve G) and a King Baritone (3 Valve Bb). They have recomended that I ask around?? So here I am. I have a buddy who uses one with his mellophone and it ias amazing, cant hear him two people down. If anyone can let me know if they use it for baritone and what size, I would appreciate it. Thanks, Alden
