  1. As an adult you should feel embarrassed for asking someone to do this. This the kind of behavior that is going to cause rehearsals to be closed in the future if people cannot use common sense and wait for the organizations to release information when THEY seam it ready to release.
  2. Yes I know. Crown is NOT changing the closer. Never has been and never was remotely under consideration. Now will they ADD a tag/ new ending (or whatever you want to call it)........yes as there is a 100% chance of that happening at some point in the future as their recent typical history indicates. Stay tuned for a wild ride!!!
  3. Sorry to blow up your grand designs, but it rides on a normal trailer pulled behind one of the vehicles.
  4. OH the show......well if that's what you wanted to know. The title is ********, musical selections are: *************, ************, ************, ***********, *********** and ************. Well there you heard it hear first!!!! Enjoy!
  5. Come on corpsband.....you know your itching to drop some hints!!!!!
  6. This show will follow the typical Crown show template. Fan friendly memorable music with ample technical displays on a show theme that will allow the viewers to have their own experience and allow one to dig as deep into the message as they want. At the vey least it will be good music played very well. There was a lot of excitement this past weekend in Fort Mill. It's going to be another fun ride!!!!
  7. WOW. It seems that most have checked a little clip that the corps (on the spur of the moment) posted. It's not a warm up exercise or an encore tune. Now with that also said.....could that change before the first show? Yes it could, so we will have to wait in anticipation to see what the final edition sounds like. As I seem to typically say.....it's going to be interesting and a fun ride. As normal with Crown.....the show announcement will be in the April camp/ Spring Training start time frame. So no announcements before then. But to have some fun and to add gas to the spark....it's a new uniform year for Crown!!!! So could they go back to cream uni's??? I guess we will have to wait until their Preview show to be sure. As far the "Sledgehammer" tag and I'm sure someone has caught that they changed the color on the web page also......it's funny how everyone jumps on the slightest thing and runs with. But "Sledgehammer" was a holdover as a brass hype from last year. Interesting story that a 2015 brass line member can tell IF they want to share publicly. Sit back and enjoy the ride!
  8. Crown will be getting new uniforms as this year their normal rotation schedule. AND we will all have to wait until their Preview to see what they look like.................
  9. Nope......no magic there. The previous photo was staged to give the illusion that something important was going on. Nothing to see here.
  10. Well yes I was. But honestly nothing was spoken about the show. The only music was "Band of Brothers" and two encore tunes. Time to sit back and watch this thing sprout from just a seed into a final production come August. Enjoy the ride!!!!
  11. Let me be the first to start this riot with after camp recap!!!!! The show is titled "_____" They are playing "_____" The uniforms are "______" Other than that......nothing else to report.
  12. fyi the Reader Digest version- The Beethoven Preshow is the start of Dante's journey through the forest, then enter through the "Gates of Hell" in (ironically with a composition called the "Gates of Hell") with no specific part a specific section of music per "Ring of Hell" but are grouped together until the "Ode to Joy" moment being the resurfacing on Easter Morning. I have a feeling that this will become more and more clear over time.
  13. Thanks and +1000 for your family and their volunteering. And as you know very well it's less about the actual product on the field yearly and more about the MM's to be there for them. I cannot think of any other place I would want to be than beside my Crown. BTW- Kay is welcome for the "Sweet Tea" recipe!!!!
  14. Final ST Recap. As this is being posted they should be loading the busses to begin heading to Kentucky for 2 days of rehearsal. Summer 2015 Tour is upon us!!! I now get to live through video’s and recaps from show observers until it’s my time to join Crown for my volunteer time from NightBeat through Finals. Most if not all have seen video of the Preview. So the preverbal cat is out of the bag. The MM’s have taken to the show design and concept and have fully bought into this it. This is causing the design team realizing they can “Plus It” and really begin to dive into “Bringing Hell”. All feel they have a solid workable platform in which to expand and begin to add layers on top of. As always, time will tell how that pans out. Business really picked up last week. As usual the MM’s could see the light at the end of their ST tunnel and pushed really hard this week to have a strong showing Saturday. Business also picked up with the weather and the typical Carolina heat, humidity and afternoon thunderstorms with this past weekend being the hottest to date. Also the general sprit picked up as realization of what’s at their doorstep. It’s going to be fun ride (if one can call a ride through hell and back fun?). To the 2015 Crown MM’s- God Speed, stay safe, healthy and keep pushing until the end from one “Homer” Alumnus. I will see you in Winston-Salem.
  15. WHAT!!!! No corpsband????? I guess that also means NO rain this year!!!! 😈
  16. I will be there. Jim will make an announcement not to post any video, audio or photos until after Wednesday's show or until after the corps post. I think the corps posted a picture back in 13 of the purple pants right around the Preview. I will aim to recap this weekend.
  17. WOW....just freaking WOW. When you think you've covered all the uniform angles (just wishing to appease someone) this group latches on the intangibles and takes off running. FWIW..........Crown refers to the black trailer as the "Uniform Trailer".
  18. Weekend 3 Update. The kids are getting tied of GWU and are ready to hit the road. Which I find funny that they want to give up staying in a very nice southern small town university, but they are ready to perform. The normal ST bumps and burses although there seems to be less limping than I remember from last years ST, which is good. What is great to see as an Alumni (and parent) that the kids are all pulling for and encouraging everyone else, right down to the brass giving it up for the percussion after playing the "Gates of Hell" as they came into the stadium for ensemble. VERY Very nice to see as many time it's not like that. It's each individual group and one looses the perspective of what a "TEAM" is. The brass is continuing to hammer through things, the percussion is exciting to listen to and watch and the guard are doing to great things and (to my brass ears) I think are ahead of last year. They are all going to have their bumps in their long (to them) road to Finals. They have almost the entire show in the field as so Saturday night with just a few pages left. Again very noticeable improvement in the performance level that will continue to grow. To me the Dies Irae just blows you over then the Adagio is growing more and more haunting that gives me chills. We can start to see the finessing of things start to happen as the Design Team was all in Sunday night.........so "Business Picked up"!!!! It will be interesting to see how this show is received as it's a "Un-Crown" show; which is not a negative..........it's just different from their recent history. If recent history holds up- around Allentown things will be clicking on all 150 cylinders. They are really looking forward to putting the initial polish on the show and make a statement at Saturday's Preview then hit the road heading toward Indy for the first show. In the end- it does not matter what everyone thinks about the notes played, things being hit, things being thrown, people moving and the uniform warn.....these are teenagers and young adults that just simply want to entertain everyone they come in contact with and do it the very best they can all just for memories and life long friendships.
  19. One might say that.........but I'm certain they did pay for them. Due to traveling for my day job........I think the recently posted video might answer those question. Sorry for the delay in answering your questions. For some reason the tech big hit and remote connecting to anything was beyond difficult.
  20. A short recap of the end of the 2nd week for Crown down at Gardner Web University. The MM’s are in good sprints with the normal week two aches and pains. The corps has everything is on the field to the closer and there was the noticeable confidence heard in their performance execution through all captions. There are a TON of things to work on but things are developing nicely. The bodywork is taking a different direction than recent years which I think is a nice and interesting twist. Plus there are things to always add here and there. The drill looks to be smartly written with some interesting moves in there. The new drums are in and the wraps are complete…..they look sharp! The uniforms are being fitted and are different (I don’t think one would categorize them as shocking after the purple pants of 13?). The hat ban and jackets are the same. Everyone is loving the new direction of the percussion. (again) there is a TON more work to do, but the changes seems to be positive to date. The Corps Preview will be Saturday June 13 and (to my knowledge) it will not be broadcasted. But then again it will be part of the 17th’s theater event.
  21. The Gates is after the Pre-show (kinds of difficult to call it an Opener these days). Leon is still the drill writer. There are spots early on in the learning of the drill/ show one figures there is to be body movement inserted and corpsband is correct about Michael Rosales being the movement guy this year.
