  1. rane you can't tell me that post you made wasn't a tad bit rude. as a person who marched nine years and aged out with that corps. i was very offended to read what you said. maybe you didn't mean it that way, but it came off as if you deserved the spot soley because you knew the instructors.
  2. hey rane, i marched cascades guard last summer, and those kids were amazing. very hard working. if you beat out a scade vet for a spot you shouldn't be so cocky about it. be thankful because all of those kids deserve to march. getting a spot because you know an instructor isn't something to be proud of.
  3. yes they will. the males are demons, the girls are angels.
  4. i marched on AE's guard last year and i know a lot of the people didn't come back for the '06 season. that was probably one of the biggest problems. there were about 10 people from my city who went there who aren't returning, a few from the states who i dont think were coming back (they joined because they were going to join strutters last summer but strutters went inactive so we were the next closest corps.) and there are a few (me included) who have moved on to div I corps. in general, it is hard for canadian marching activities to stay afloat because there is no media coverage of it up here. we dont have high school or college bands or corps, they're all extracurricular and almost no one knows they exist. in canada if you said 'i march in a drum corps' people either say 'whats a drum corps?' or 'oh, so you play the drums?'. its difficult to thrive when the populous is ignorant to what we are.
  5. anthony was one of the best directors that corps has had. i dont understand why the board wouldnt fight to keep him, thats just foolery. btw, thanks for saying AE's show was your favorite Div III show, I marched guard there last summer and it was one of my favorite to march out of the nine shows i've done.
  6. Ours was horrible. prelims was our worst show all season. the drummajors messed up in the beggining where there is just a snare solo. the whole corps listens to the solo to know when to come in and the soloist had to make something up cause the drum majors weren't in time with each other. then my rifle broke and we had a tear in the bass drums. when we watched our show, it didn't look bad at all, but we knew ourselves it was the worst run ever.
  7. trooping the stands at pittsfield was probably one of my most memorable dci moments. people were so loud and happy to see us, and they would single us out and say 'you! i loved that part when you did this!' they really paid attension to the show which is the best feeling ever. allegiance elite guard 2005
  8. you can download key poulan's music at www.keypoulan.com or .org.
  9. hey i was just reading the opening post in this thread. i marched allegiance elite's guard this summer and i believe the quote about the guard sitting out most of the time applies to the ballad/closer correct? well, the ballad was to emphasize the guard duet going on therefore having the rest of the guard filter in, and in the closer they wanted a sabre quartet (of which i was one) to lead into a rifleline to lead into the flagline. it was all done for effect.
