  1. I remember that Ace Holleran was announcing the Alumni Spectacular last year and that he presented Les Diplomates in French. It was much appreciated. That was not repeated this year.
  2. I think that former DCA senior corps especially the former champions should go on at the end of the Alumni spectacular. That would bring the Skyliners Alumni on 9th or 10th place.
  3. When I began to get interested in drum corps in the sixties, the 2 canadian champions were the Guelph Royalaires (senior) and the Toronto Optimists (junior). Scout House and De Lasalle Oakland were very close in the junior competition. The Marching Ambassadors, the Canadian Commanders and Les Diplomates were good seniors corps too. Les Diplomates became canadian senior champions in 1965. I'm very happy to see that Scout House, the Optimists and Les Diplomates will participate in the Alumni spectacular and give to the fans good memories.
  4. The Optimists have the chance (?) to appear first. They can watch all the other corps after their performance.

  7. Hello, 4 feet of snow, it would have been marvelous. Are you dreaming of that kind of white Christmas ? But it was really 2 feet. You know, we work with the metric system here. We have to convert it in inches and feet. André DeBlois
  8. Hello Andy. I remember. It was at the end of the sixties and beginning of the seventies. Les Diplomates played at this show many times and a great number of corps were invited too. I have participated in the organization of those events. Many people on that forum surely have souvenirs of a trip to Quebec City. How about telling us your story. André DeBlois Les Diplomates 61-73 Les Diplomates Alumni 2005-............ P.S. We might organize a show in the next years. 4 feet of snow in Quebec City yesterday and winds of 90 mph . Will somebody come to the Quebec Winter Carnival this year ?
  9. Very good pictures of Les Diplomates. Thanks to the photographer Charlie Groh.
  10. Magnifique weekend in Rochester. Les Diplomates received a warm welcome from the crowd at the Alumni Spectacular. Thanks to all the Alumni corps for their encouragements. Les Dips are back and for a long time.
  11. Les Diplomates will stay at the Hyatt Hotel, 125, East Main Street, this weekend. They will practice at 2 o'clock Saturday at Adams Field on Adams Street. Hope to meet many drum corps fans. Have a good time.
  12. Good luck to the Optimists. One of the greatest drum corps in the Canadian history. Very happy to see you back on the field.
  13. I remember the Geneva Appleknockers too. I don't know if Les Diplomates have ever competed against them. Good luck to St.Joe's in Rochester.
  14. Thanks. Les Diplomates répertoire includes Ben Hur (1962) Happy days Con te partiro + Boléro de Ravel For me, formidable Bridge over troubled water (1973)
  15. A special invitation for the Alumni Spectacular. Les Diplomates are back in Rochester 34 years after their last show at the 1973 DCA. At 12:00, Sunday September 2nd, they will play just after the Bridgemen and before the Caballeros Alumni. Don't miss Les Diplomates. They are different. They will surprise the drum corps fans. See you in Rochester.
