  1. Have there not been several stories on the small screen, online, and in print that list how poor virtual learning has been nationwide? Even children with access to computers are not participating. Our world wide standing in education of our children has been dropping for years, never mind with C19 making learning very challenging.
  2. One of the biggest reasons teachers didn't want to go back to in classroom teaching was the possibility of children infecting others within the school. Again, some feel the "science" doesn't support their concerns. Did De Blasio change his mind do to science or the parental out cry? Many parents might be upset if their child is kept back, but some won't mind since they'll be a year older, bigger, stronger, more coordinated, for sports.
  3. Some teacher unions seem to still be in pre election mode. Elementary school children have always been at a very low level of catching C19 and those who do are usually back in the game in two weeks. From the CDC site. 4. Neither did Ed Denon or Joe Dowling’s wife Felicia.
  5. Maybe the wrath of Tony S. against the East corps struck again.
  6. The BACBONE first used by the Boston Crusaders in 2008 " NEOCOSMOS." It was a "BLUEMAN" type Percussion Instrument. Played by Mitchell Beckman . This short clip is the best way of showing you. This is the firsts of many in this weekend's" BAC INNOVATIONS." https://www.facebook.com/watch/?v=10155134058144172
  7. Yes it is and that's St. Lucy's to his left.
  8. From the Boston Crusaders D&BC Friends & Alumni FB page. "The BOSTON CRUSADERS have been true Innovators of the Drum Corps World. BAC was the the first to create Marching Bells, Marimbas and Tympanis. To eventually having the very first Stationary Pit. In 1985 the Boston Crusaders shocked the DCI Judges and Fans. In being the first corps to use an Electric Synthesizer. To play none other than "AXEL F." From a BAC mm. "At the beginning of the 1977 drum corps season (I was 13 yrs old), Danny Pitts (our BAC drum instructor) made me into a one man marching percussion accessory member. I carried a variety of instruments “borrowed” by Paul (Pitts) from the BSO and other places. I carried bongos, a gong, wood blocks, triangle, claves, sleigh bells, tambourine, & castanets. I did this for a number of shows until there was a need to fill in at bass drum. I have no photos of me in this unique role. I am pretty confident that no other drum corps at the time had this marching position.
  9. For those of us who have or are still competing in track & field, soccer, softball, baseball, basketball, road/bike races, etc. Would like to speak with you.
  10. With the start of C19 vaccine's distribution in a month or so, there's a good chance by Aug./Sept. of 21, we should all have learned if the vaccine's are working. Even if catching C19 has almost been eliminated, I'm thinking housing sites of old might come up with excuses why they don't want to open up their facilities again.
  11. To me, whether a collegiate or professional team, they both are teams "galavanting all over the country".
  12. The higher the Division level for a collegiate team, the further they travel. Then there's the March madness games and then NIT games for other schools.
  13. Besides the discussion of props and such that should be temporarily eliminated, what about open class going back to 128 mm for a couple of years? Comparing the cost savings or lost income between 128 and 150 should be interesting.

  15. I first posted in this thread when you posted a video of the Crossmens percussion section with CP comments at Madison during Finals nights. I would not know if the guy with a large head and dark hair is Charlie. Allentown was not involved and there's no results for 8-2 if there was a show at A-Town. Recaps were taken off the From The Pressbox site. The recaps for 7-18 in Boston do not list any judges names. I can't find Charlie as a field percussion judge anywhere on FTP. Maybe it's listed on another source.
  16. Don't think so. https://www.fromthepressbox.com/1992season
  17. Anyone mention Wild Bill Hooten of the Reilly Raiders (?).
  18. With a large "W" in the middle of the field? That DCI banner is only used during Finals week I believe. file:///C:/Users/Owner/Downloads/1992recaps%20(4).htm
  19. 1992 Recaps 1992 Percussion Field Qtr's D'Angelo Semi's C King Finals E. Argenziano So, even though there's the DCI Championship banner in the background, what show/year is this C. Poole video from or is this not by Charlie?
  20. It's our daughters dog. Three girls have been bugging parents for a couple of years. Name is L.C. for Little Compton, RI.
  21. Since you drew the short straw Greg, it's all yours to create.
  22. Before the DCI season was shut down, one of the DCP posters mentioned she was going to try and come and let this person give her a Finals Week tour.
  23. Well, I use the machines 3 days and add a spin class on Friday, but those were the only emoji's close. Couldn't find a softball one for BP 3 days and three games a week. But, the retired Mrs. Nurse says that's why my ulnar nerve is talking to me. Off to Bullhead tomorrow for a tournament by myself. Mrs. Nurse never understood my infatuation with D&BC or Senior softball. But, we're six months away from 48 years.
