  1. Here is a great shot from 1967. Boston Crusaders
  2. I second this. Not only a great place to view our history, but to get the real story behind so many things we all just heard about through the years. Here's to 2000 more pages and more new friends.
  3. I'll add to that reward if anyone has a video of Rockland.
  4. Here is a shot of BOTH styles (check out the contra in the back). BTW, the soloist is one of drum corps most famous alums, as well as a current day supporter and staff member for Bones.
  5. Could be, could not. We all know people that have said they marched somewhere and didn't. People feel safe after 18 years saying things like that. What they don't count on are people who hold on to those sacrifices and memories and will question people because they know they are a wanna be. I marched in 1994 with 2-7 and to this day people say they marched there who didn't. There are some great Lanncer alumns who have the lists of every single person who did march that night and they don't let anyone say they were there who wasn't. I experience the same thing with the Emerald Marquis. I get reference requests still, 10 years after we folded for people I never heard of. Oh well, the pretenders know they didn't, and so do the real "players".
  6. Was or is there a Blue Rock? I know there is a Devil Dog so that's one to add.
  7. One of the best and highest I ever saw was Greg Horne from North Star. The kids today have nothing on him. Vertical & flat, he was something to see.
  8. Send me a PM. When does school get out and where do you live. Dale
  9. I have a set of Premier Vibes for sale. In excellent shape with field Frame. Also has cymbal and accessory mounts. We bought them a couple of years ago and don't use them. $1200 plus shipping or delivery cost.
  10. Some that are known somewhat from previous discussions. George B was watching the movie Charge of the Light Brigade and the 27th Lancers were a unit in that movie. The 11th Calvary was stationed in Casper. Not sure but I heard BD has something to do with Mt Diablo?
  11. We have a pair of 2 valve baritone horns for sale. They are in great shape. They are both 2 valve chrome. $300 + $40 for shipping for BOTH. They are in awesome shape. These were members horns who bought new horns. PM please.
  12. I am thinking of buying two wedge snare drums to save the backs of a couple of battery players who do the 5 hour gig in the Boston North End Italian feasts during the summer. Anyone have 1 or 2 for sale? Dale
  13. I have it from a reliable source that the "libations" and food will be set up IN the hall so you won't have to miss anything while you rest a bit.
  14. Deb is no stranger to drum corps having worked with East Coast Jazz and playing on occaision with Legends. As far as the Dream. She didn't march with a Jersey corps so I would say probably not.
  15. I was teaching 2-7 in 84 and a lot of very good members came to the Lancers as well. On Memorial day weekend, 1985, I also drove a van to Ohio and picked up 14 brass players for 27th. In the case of Alliance it helped two corps and it sounds like Pride did as well.
  16. I agree on Brady but Jeff Kievit had all that as well.
  17. BITD most corps were local. For the most part unless your corps broke up, (or was a small young corps) people didn't change corps. I'm sure every corps had a favorite place to hang. I'm sure everyone even knew where the other corps were and for the most part everyone respected that and stayed away. When I marched in the Lancers the most common place to hang was Revere Beach. Where did your corps party (hang) after rehearsal and when there was no rehearsal. Seemed to me we were together even when the corps had a night off (as rare as that was).
  18. I have a beautiful King 2 valve bugles for sale. It is a MINT King K-20 sop. I personally have been using it for 3 years but got a new Kanstul for Christmas. I have tried many a 3 valve G sop but nothing plays like this beauty. Valve action is so smooth and sweet. That being said it is a horn that belongs to the corps and it's time to sell it and put the money towards upgrading something else. We would like to get $250 for it plus $20 shipping in the US. If you ever played one of these you know how special they can be. I also have a couple of other King horns for sale as well. PM if interested.
