  1. God #### it. What the actual ####! Box 5 cut out and I missed the last minute of CV. For ####s sake.
  2. Which news station was doing great the interviews? I was interviewed and I'd like to see the report.
  3. Congratulations to our Southern friends, Carolina Gold! Congratulations to C2 and to Bucs. I can't state it enough, a huge thank you to both Columbus Saints and C2 for saving Atlanta CV from not having an adequate rehearsal site! Long story short, our field was unusable due to the fact that it ended 10 feet past the back hash. Add in a cement shot put ring right in the middle of side 1 and well, you get the picture. New town, New challenges. It all worked out though with Saints giving us their field on Friday and C2 providing one of their fields Saturday and Sunday. We also exchanged food with C2 on Sunday and the two corps had some drum corps bonding time together. This is what it's all about. On the field competitors but off the field friends. Looking forward to next season! PS @kevingamin- yes the horn line wore chaos face paint. And you may have missed the very end in front of the pit where one of our brass members rocked it old school by literally ripping her trumpet in half and stomping it into the ground. If you've got video, check the last 15 seconds ones or so.
  4. Thank you, Fred. We've been working non-stop with a unified goal: Be the best that Atlanta CV can be. On a side note, I can't think of a better way to age out this year. 20 and done! :-)
  5. Thank you. We've brought Jeff Sacktig on this year to write our drill. It's amazing to march.
  6. Thank you for your comment. This is without a doubt the strongest Atlanta CV of my now 20 years marching with the corps. We are having a Fan Appreciation Night next Saturday, August 5th at Hiram High School. The fun begins at 8 PM and admission is free! This will be a full run, in uniforms, and with more stuff!
  7. Thank you, BigW, for the review! For all of the reviews. I want to add something not from the show. Several of us CV folks had the opportunity to stand in front of White Sabers during their "performance on the lawn" before the Catonville parade and I want to say what a pleasure it was! Their horn line is easily top 5 caliber. Hands down. Every single member was playing at 100%; no slackers in this line. They had a powerful sound that anyone would think would be coming from a line much, much larger. That's what playing in tune and with a full grasp of the basics will do for you. Best of luck this season from one very impressed CV mello member!
  8. Check out our performance at "The Dome" during the DCI Southeastern Championship this past Sunday. Atlanta CV Georgia Dome Performance DCI Fan Network
  9. Congratulations on a great performance. I march with Atlanta CV so I didn't get to see your show. My wife really enjoyed it and thought you guys were great.
  10. Thank you so much for your live blog. Thank you for the kind words too. Atlanta CV is reaching for the stars this season. And we aim to reach them.
  11. Yes, Kevin they're rookies. They'll get their CV star during a small ceremony at the DCI Southeastern Championship.
  12. We at Atlanta CV are very actively marketing to a younger membership. The video at the other end of the link was presented last year to the Georgia Music Educators Association at their annual conference. http://www.atlantacv...howall=&start=3
  13. Chancellors were from Ocean County. We rehearsed at Visitation Church in Bricktown. :-)
  14. My Review: After two attempts to load the Blue-Ray disc over the course of 10 minutes the image above is what I was presented with. This is not quite the level of quality that I expect for $135. It isn't even up to par with your basic point-and-click video editing software. It appears that the camera work is solid. However the production work on my disc is not. The video quality is somewhere between Hi-8 and near-DVD; not sharp or crisp. For example, it's not possible to make out uniform details. I found the audio to be out of sync with the video sporadically throughout the disc. That is up to the Cabs performance. As they were being introduced, a flurry of digital artifacts and stutters ensued and the disc was unceremoniously ejected by my 5-year-old Samsung player. This machine has never let me down and I think that perhaps the disc is defective. Okay, so what's really important as a fan is that the recordings should be good. Not so much with this disc. As I stated already, the audio wasn't always in sync with the video. The audio was compressed and seemed to lack any evidence that it had been processed in a positive way. The sound is flat and lacks upper and lower ends; no highs and no lows. Amateur-level quality of the menu and titling aside, it's possible that I just got my hands on a bad copy of the disc. I'm going to contact the company and try to get them to send me another copy (and for less than $135). Wish me luck.
  15. I was too busy rehearsing with my corps to partake in any activities. I wish the noise ordinance allowed for playing off at retreat or the old parking lot jams but I guess we're moving past those things and I do understand why the rules are as they are. From a performers perspective the stadium was very nice. Great turf, great stands, and a very nice sound on the field. The sound "feel" took a little getting used to but hey, you should be watching hands anyway, right? Annapolis gets an A from me.
