  1. Ok, from an OLD Timer! They weren't called "tricks" they were equipment work!
  2. We had a reunion this weekend for the State Street Review. There was someone from each year from 1978 - 1993! We had a great time.
  3. There's always construction and never any place to park!
  4. My questions - 1) Why the location so far away from Madison? 2) How are the Scouts involved in the new Winterguard? Instructors? Financially? Members?
  5. In front of a nursing home. I'm not really sure most of the people knew what was going on.
  6. Don and I were talking the other day about the fact that there aren't many (if any) corps that have one section that scores a lot higher/lower than the other sections in the captions. Are the corps that balanced across sections or is it just a side effect of the style of judging. "Back in the day" the corps would average in a range, say 6th place, but they might have one section that would consistently be in 2nd place.
  7. We think she about 2 1/2 or 3 years old. We got her from a Shar Pei rescue.
  8. YES! I love when corps would do things together like this!
  9. I remember getting a "noise ticket" in Boulder in 77 or 78. And then in Birmingham in 79 we had someone shooting a gun off in the woods near the parking lot we were practicing in.
  10. It's July 1st and it was 64 here today!
  11. Doh! Glad I wasn't the only one!
  12. Our wedding anniversary is in October. 25 years for us too this year!
  13. I had a question regarding the fact that they do not do full retreats anymore...which I would have loved when I marched! But...I noticed that a lot of the kids were over near the school/buses when they were announcing the scores. Do the kids not listen for the scores? Do they find out later from staff? That was probably the only good part of retreats. Hated the mosquitoes!
  14. I agree. I can't get past the Bass, set drummer and electric piano (keyboard). That is just not Drum Corps to me. I agree also with the statement about "stealing" my drum corps. There are other activities... I liked Blue Stars, but I think they could use about 5 of the "factory" tables...it was too crowded. Seeing that I was on that side of the field - a few parts of the show were way on the other end of the field and I sat there looking a empty tables.
