  1. Did you predict that Cadets would win last year when they placed 4th at DCI Minnesota?

    This.

There is a TON of time for corps to clean the product they're putting on the field and there isn't a corps out there that is even remotely close to peaking yet, there's still a solid 3 weeks or so before even the mature corps start getting to that point.

  2. While I wasn't really a fan of the options given, I think the new judging system is a step in the right direction. Although, I don't see any reason that a "fan favorite" show can't be entertaining and well executed at the same time. Cavaliers 2002 comes to mind, impeccable execution from top to bottom, maybe a little "artsy" (even though I hate that word), but largely a crowd favorite.

  3. Complete legacy collection for sale. Initially posted it to help cover the cost of tour fees but was offered a sponsorship so I unlisted it. Unfortunately, now my car requires yet another major repair and I'm once again force to put the DVDs on the Chopping Block.

  4. I don't know if the Garfield marchers are trying to make you guys simply feel better about finishing behind Garfield or not in 1984, but that '84 Cadets show performance was selected by fans nationwide as one of the top 5 favorite shows ever in a DCI national poll. '84 Garfield's Finals performance was magnificent, and its on fan network. The Visual and Guard alone was spectacular, and the closing drill sequence ( and its execution ) is one for the ages. The '84 Cadets were deserving champions with the vast numbers in attendance that night in Atlanta. Nothing against coming in 2nd however as BD was a deserving runners up in both the Prelims and in the Finals to the Garfield Cadets that year, imo. '84 Garfield was one of those rare shows that was considered the best with both the fans in the Prelims and Finals AND with both the separate judging panels at Prelims and Finals..... as well as with fans nationwide that saw it live on TV and later with those who viewed it on tape.

Never once did he say that Garfield didn't deserve their well-earned gold medal, he just said that even the GC membership didn't think they were going to win that night, it's not like they won in a landslide, afterall.

  5. Starting from the beginning

Madison 1975- Slaughter. That opening hit was crazy

Whichever year SCV hid the Bottle Dance until Finals (1979?)

Madison 1988- Malaguena, coming from the mello solo to the end

SCV 1989- Music of the Night, so great

    Phantom 1991- Bacchanale

Madison 1992- Funny- turning that song into a Malaguena like closer

    Phantom 1993- Estancia

    Madison 1996- first impact

    BD 1996- first note

BD 1998- the chorale during Cool/Maria

Madison 1999- JCS (where it just comes out of silence, and pushed the stands back)

    Phantom 2002- First note

    Cadets 2003- Rocky Point Holiday

Cadets 2007- An amazing show, and that hornline was crazy loud

    Crown 2008- First impact

    Bluecoats 2008- the Boxer

Crown 2009- Most of that show

    SCV 2009- the ending

    Nailed it.
