  1. It's an opinion board, don't take it so personally.
  2. Members heard about that fall for years from the alumni that were there that night. From what they said, it was pretty brutal.
  3. BD placed 3rd in 2000, they don't give rings for 3rd place finishes.
  4. The Crimson Lancers (formerly, Mighty Lancers) will be returning to the virtual field in 2012 while also fielding an entirely new "B" corps, Crimson Lancer Cadets. CL and CLC will be aggressively getting back into the DCPi scene this year with hopes of clinching a medal come finals in their respective classes. Stay tuned for more info in the coming weeks as we announce our programs and other exciting news!
  5. LOLOLOLOL America's economy is a joke, we've been losing companies to outsourcing left and right, but that's really not what this is about.
  6. With a couple more weeks of rehearsal, it's completely possible that they would have placed higher than they did. The difference between that show in mid/late July and Finals was a HUGE difference. imo
  7. Why? You're doing a fantastic job cheerleading for them all by your lonesome. I do hope you're getting some kind of a kickback.
  8. Magic used them in 05 and 06 and I recall from 2005 that they had all sorts of issues; some members of the drumline actually coined the phrase "Ludwig: the worst reason to play drums". Being that 2005 was their first year back in the the marching perc community after a lengthy hiatus, product issues were to be expected. Concerning the issue many people are citing with customer service, I definitely recall seeing a Ludwig representative visit us pretty frequently on tour. Granted, Magic, along with Southwind, were the only D1 corps using their products that year, so they really didn't have much to spread themselves thin over.
  9. Necro'd! Congrats man, I wish you all the luck in the world this summer!
  10. Money issues account for a lot of students auditioning for local corps only instead of traveling great distances and spending boatloads of money to march a California corps. For a student in the southeast, there are only 3 WC corps that one can realistically march, whereas there are probably close to 10 DCA/"local" corps. These local corps can be a huge learning experience for less experienced students and should not be written off so easily!
  11. I think that if what he was saying was actually true it would have been edited by a mod by now. Idk, not going to take it as the gospel until I see it on the access website.
  12. Personally, I'd like to see SCV revert to their mid 80's uniforms and Regiment to revert to their 96 uniforms!
  13. I don't see that happening, although I wouldn't be entirely opposed if they did lol.
  14. Even though it was Hrothgar's idea first, Fleet Foxes would make a pretty cool drum corps show in the right hands.
  15. Am I the only one that wished Spirit would actually march 120 horns? That sound was HUGE! I was just commenting on the video a few minutes ago that their hornline sounds a lot like the legendary Spirit hornlines of the early to mid 80s. It's kind of annoying to see them hover in that "barely making finals" bracket every year, I'd like to see them break through one of these years, maybe this will be the one.
  16. Mr. Mathis, Will you be at DCI Atlanta this year? I'm bringing a few friends that I went to DCI Orlando with last year, figure we'll stop by the SCV housing site and watch rehearsal (if it isn't too far) and then head over for an early lunch before the corps start taking the field. You should hit me up and we can have lunch at the CNN center or something -Chris On topic: I've been to DCI Atlanta twice, Once I sat on the 30yd line, bottom tier and the second time was just about mid field toward the top of the bottom tier. I think the ideal seasons would be outside !! In all seriousness, bottom tier, row 25-30, as close to center as you can get.
  17. Seems like it might be kind of tough to march to, with the constant time changes - although it does flow pretty well, so it might only be the drum major that has to sweat it :P
  18. wait...what? The giant angel wasn't somehow a dead giveaway?
