Anyone else from a Florida guard here?

I like fierce shows, but Seminole HS... 06? won me over. it was the show with the jester heads, and whoever did the Happy 30th Birthday WGI was one of my favorite quirky shows too.

thats great that you love colorguard the way you say you do. That will really help you succeed in the guard world in my opinion. This past summer I was a member of Spirit's colorguard. I was the second youngest member in the colorguard (by two months) and the youngest member on the weapon line, and it was pretty tough. My best advice is to just keep practicing, and audition to the best of your ability. I would really recommend spirit. We had members of different talent levels, which was pretty cool to see everyone improve over the summer. The staff there is tremendous. They are the best. They will really teach you so much. The caption heads have many years of teaching experience, and the techs have also had great performing experience. I dont know how long and who they have taught. Crown is another good colorguard, in my eyes they are my favorite guard to watch. Either guard is a really good place to go. What made you want to go specifically to Spirit im just wondering.

I think I liked Pride 97 better. Road to perdition was a cool show though.

I loved Paradigm and Northeast Independent that year. I always love watching Paradigms floor feature. Wonderwall is such an amazing show I agree.

Ill just say for me, a four day camp felt like everydays a little bit. Getting butt kicked by guard staff was great though.

yea then I have the wrong years for Pride. It was whenever they did Alcatraz, Stand Up, Both Sides Now, and Sideshow.

I think that would be a cool idea.

woww thats a good idea. except po folks without a video camera cant do this. lol I just start at a single and work my way up. I do the same thing, watch the height. It works for me. One thing not to do, is chuck a rifle. Know what your trying to toss.

if taping a rifle all the way is a weight problem, you could stretch the tape.

Now I wanna go watch some of these movies.

dont forget Drumline, theres one sighting of a red flag in the distance, but other than that, its more street dance teamish than "colorguard".

well the size would cost extra wouldnt it?. 39 inch rifles are slightly more expensive than 36's. But i would recommend a 39" ultimate/premier whatever they are called now. Light ones work well.

if the middle school has any type of pep rally, see if the guard can perform at it.

I forgot to add Sideshow to my favorites list, I love that show to death. The music is amazing!!!!

Channel One Suite is one of my favorites, one becuase its pretty clean for the most part, and they never stop. My high school also performed Channel One Suite in marching band.

not anymore it was taken down. i was so bummed I havent seen it yet. I went to premier, and I had to leave early becuase the parent I was riding with didnt want to get home at two in the morning. NEi is worth it.

Matthew? Hes amazing. I went to auditions for the NEi Experience, since im still in high school I cant audition yet, I saw him up close. Hes good at everything. I cannot wait to graduate!!!!!!!!!!! World class is so much better than Scholastic AAA. Thats if I make it in World that is... I also liked how they made the music match the visual part of the video, such as George's rifle catch and the ensemble sabre catch.
