  1. They marched extremely well. Better than they ever have. I think a new drill designer and guard staff would do the trick. Weber would be a great move for them, but I doubt he's going anywhere. Slyvester? hmmm.... That could be interesting.
  2. I believe they are since Bluecoats used one this summer.
  3. What's the injury timeline to be considered a member? If someone moved-in with a corps at the beginning of the summer and had a season ending injury a week later, is that person a member?
  4. I think 150 is enough unless buses get bigger again. Just approximating, but having another 280 or so members in Div 1 isn't a bad thing. About 2 more drum corps worth of people on the field. More kids getting the chance to march and more alumni for those corps in the future. I'm just hoping the talent level doesn't get diluted.
  5. hmm...me too. And I'll continue to disagree. If that's true, than that's a shame. The corps seems to be moving in the right direction from a performance standpoint. They moved much better this year than in 2006. I would have to rank them: BD Cadets Bluecoats Cavies Crown Phantom SCV Blue Knights Boston
  6. Did you read any of this thread before you posted this? There's many examples of corps not being in the top three and winning captions. How is there "no hope?" I disagree with the statement saying that they did not march well. Did you see them live this season? What are you basing that statement on? I've never been a big fan of theirs until this season's show, but that hornline marched their ##### off. I never thought I'd say that about the Bluecoats. They moved well enough to win the caption on QF's day.
  7. The article says that the Dome is coming down in April and will take about 4 months to clear the site. I wonder what date DCI has in mind for announcing the stadium plans. Is everyone going to follow this same route for booking hotels or just wait and hope that it's announced soon? I'm thinking tickets are going to be a nightmare if you buy tickets for the new stadium and then seats need switched to an alternate stadium.
  8. Here's an update on the stadium progress. http://www.indystar.com/apps/pbcs.dll/arti...CAL18/708200395 "The league won't set a game schedule for some time, so the state authority that is building the arena has given itself until Aug. 15, 2008, to make the stadium game-ready." Are Championships scheduled for August 7-9th? I'm a little worried. I wonder if parking is going to be a nightmare if they're still finishing up construction.
  9. Wow....no way. I saw them many times this summer. Finals week live, they moved as well as anyone and had probably the strongest upper body I've seen. I was extremely impressed. Look at pictures online and compare their upper body to any other corps. Not many corps had that level of detail. Upper body gets skipped over by so many. Not many people talk about it and most are only concerned with feet.
  10. I loved their guard, but it just wasn't clean enough. Especially the rifle line. Also, their guard staging was not up the level of the top 3.
  11. Agreed....I think their visual performance number was too low on Saturday. I've never seen the Bluecoats move so well. I know the guard factors in heavily so maybe that was why. I'm not really a guard person. It will be interesting to see if the corps makes a move this off-season to upgrade the visual design.
  12. 1. Crown - Loved that rifle line! 2. Bluecoats - Pure entertainment. They just need better drill next year! 3. Cadets - Great drill and musical book. What a hornline. 4. Blue Devils - I just wish the second half was as great as the first half. 5. Glassmen - Another good show from them. Loved the theme and the guard They just need a stronger drill writer.
  13. Congratulation Bluecoats members and staff! I loved this show. That was an amazing performance on Saturday night and it could have gone any way. I couldn’t believe it was so close! Looking forward to 2008, In my opinion, the visual design held them back from taking the last step this year. While the drill wasn’t bad, it just wasn’t at the level of the top 3. Other than the “drop your weapons” moment and their laser field, I can’t recall any other memorable visual moments that really stood out. I can recall 4-5 moments from each of the top 3. I don’t think it’s really a performance issue because Saturday night, the horns moved as well as any other hornline I saw from an individual standpoint. The guard could be a little stronger though. Musically, they played incredibly. I just wish they had more sustained loud phrases, like Phantom and BD. While it was a fantastic hornline, I thought they played it safe at times. 7th this season is nothing to be ashamed of. The fact that 7th through 4th were all in the 94’s shows how strong this pack was. I’m looking forward to see which direction they go in 2008.
  14. No, I love it too. I think the narration's great.
  15. I would LOVE to see electronics pass. The possibilities are so great! I would bet on it this offseason.
  16. I'm not crazy about it. It's okay I guess. The body movements are repetitive and not very clean yet. It doesn't seem to fit right now.
  17. Bluecoats winning tonight? No way, not with Curtis on GE Vis again.
  18. Why would one word of narration be worse than narration throughout an entire show? I would love to hear it with narration. Could be cool.
  19. Bluecoats have two moments where they speak over music. During the first moment, the only thing going on is beatbox and some very minor drum parts. The second moment is during the "alarm" with random brake drums. Is that where you're distracted and you can't follow the show? I wish only one section of the hornline would play at a time. Then I could hear all the parts clearly.
  20. And one of the years I marched, there was a snare alternate. We lost a snare late season, and this kid filled the hole. Bluecoats ended up being down a tenor this summer. Guess what, they ran out and filled the hole. If the situation is clear, and the kids want to be there, I don't know how that's a negative.
  21. What's the big deal? It sounds better, it's more accurate, and more descriptive to someone that doesn't know what it is.
  22. I agree with their placement. They are just not moving well right now. Also, I find that center prop distracting.
  23. Definition of how the foot moves is a concrete thing.
