Drew Dickey announced via social media that he will not be returning to the Cavaliers in 2023 as Brass Coordinator today. I’m personally very sorry to see him go.
The only staff at Cavaliers that didn’t leave is the percussion staff.

Agreed! What amazing writing and musicianship. Watch the timpani cam video if you can. Outstanding

They're still in the hiring process for their ED. Would be silly to hire design staff before that’s finalized.
They already hired and just announced their design staff. Salas, Oulette, Martin, Filosa, Thompson.

while I agree with you -- Guard Caption head/designer doesn't look like shes coming back based on her fb posts.... and some trumors
There's other departures coming from there as well.

WGI has a 6ft rule. Any time a foot is placed above 6 feet you must have a harness, cable to stop you if you fall, and/or a cushioned surface underneath. I believe the cellist was the only one that followed that guideline.
DCI has the 6 ft rule that you must have railings, but it's not enforced - Boston is a good example of not following the guidelines.

Why did DCI not immediately trespass and remove him from the permesis‽ They stated that they would if he appeared at future events after San Antonio and let this Monster in!!! Unfortunately that tracks after the decades of looking the other way.
Because he wasn’t there.

the whole first half was pre-2014. Creep/Boxer, Autumn Leaves, Nutville.....plus the drum to drum was basically the 87/88 parts ( and quite possibly cleaner than 88)
I also heard Caravan

Bluecoats show just keeps growing on me, didn't care for it earlier in the year but they just keep getting better and better each time I see them, they need a better ending though, but the crowd in Indy is going to go crazy for them..
Bring back the Keytar for the end!

If my dyslexias not fooling me, those are great seats to see/hear SC drumline nice and close.
SC?
edit, Nevermind. Never saw SCV abbreviated like that.

Just don’t think the phone app is paying off. I counted less that 60 “lights” last night in that huge Murfreesboro crowd which seemed to trend on the younger side with so many band kids in attendance.

Why is Boston allowed to go over the 6 foot safety rule? There’s no guard rail.

LOVE the show but there’s so far to go to clean it up visually and time is going quick! I also agree about the props on the 50, just feels wrong every time. The purple fabric showing on the ends of the props also is distracting. The visual details matter!

I love that that added more narration at the end. It really ties the show together. It's also impressive that their brass are playing more time during their show than any top 10 hornline in DCI this year.

I agree. FLO has been much improved this year due to using a mic in the stands and not over using the field mic. Other than the issues at the beginning of the Tour Premiere I have been happy. But they need to fix the rebroadcast issue and maybe offer a few more times.
Flo did not control the audio or broadcast for the premiere. They took what was given and mixed by Tom Blair.

Love the design so far and can't wait to see where this goes. Hopefully they can clean up the marching technique - seems more behind than usual.

Nope, not getting into a finger pointing game. That’s not the intention of this thread. Simple question…
You say it's an issue, start a thread complaining about it, but won't name one corps. Got it. Makes sense.

One of my two faves this year. Thank you, Phantom Regiment for being you. Unmistakably you. From your uniforms, to your music, to the color of your guard uniforms, to the sound of your brassline despite the flo cluster####. I apologize if this sounds trite but I mean it sincerely.
Read that Flomarching took the Tom Blair feed directly last night. They had no control of audio but helped the team fix some issues. Tom Blair covers the premier and finals week. Flo would handle audio at all other shows.

Bloo feels new and fresh. Thank you Bloo for taking a chance on something that no one has done before.
They are certainly not wearing White. Those pants are going to give visual judges headaches though.
Right. Not playing it safe. I don't like the costume by itself, but in the mix of everything, it just works.

They Keytar section was the highlight of the night for me. I assume they have improved ending planned at some point.
