  1. If you have sibelius or finale take the midi version of adagio for strings, (preferably the SATB choral arrangement) change the instrumentation of the choral piece from Soprano -> Trumpets Altos -> Mellophones Tenors -> Baritones Basses -< Tubas Then mess with the key and you should be fine.
  2. Old rule, the top few division 2s would be able to perform in DCI quarterfinals. Corps like Magic of Orlando in 2002 were able to perform all the way to DCI division 1 finals.
  3. Eitherway you're going to get equally as much out of it coming out of the tunnel finals night...
  4. 2006 Phantom Regiment - that suprisingly fast opening from scythian suite. unbelievably scary and loud. Division 2: 06 The Academy, one of those runs in the ballad to a sustain, WHOLY CRAPPERS 06 Jersey Surf - i saw them in bensalem, they ripped the audience's face off. holy crap it scared the crap out of me
  5. The end of Star 1991 is pretty amusing with the judge getting baptised by the crazy cross to cross.
  6. I feel it's just benefiting the convenience of the kids so they have more option to choose where to audition.
  7. Anyone who says a division 1 show is easy has A ) Never Marched B ) Forgot what it was like when they marched
  8. There's no such thing as an easy division 1 show. Or else it would be scoring much higher in terms of excellence very early in the season. It's impossible to say that any of these shows are easy, when it takes them 3 months to get to a box 4/5 level.
  9. I dunno but that's the hardest thing for most drum corps.
  10. Playing fast stuff when the drumline isn't behind the hornline.
  11. My favorite show was Phantom Regiment for the common reasons: very emotional, a cranked up bass system, great ballad, great hornline, and one of the best GE based shows I've seen with a classical approach. (Something I'd watch many times) The Cavaliers, were obviously going to win. The show had great effect, but now I get the impression that the Cavaliers have a very formulaic show to me. Great visuals but I don't think the musical rep was there as much as the shows before it, I swear I can't remember what they were playing. (It was nice, just nice...)
  12. These shirts won't matter at all, you won't be able to see anything special with them under stadium lights.
  13. Those things are much harder to spin than rifles. Just a side note.
  14. I don't mean this to be rude but I don't watch pre 1983 shows very much. I'm going to go wtih 2006 Cadets.
  15. considering they had such a young corps with tons of rookies this year, they'll have a very high vet retention rate for next year. Those are always good for scores.
  16. You kinda make it sound like they've been hated and scorned with these gimmicks for years. People like a drum corps one year and might hate them the next. They could have a circus next year more so than this year, but who knows people might love them. They have as much of a chance to please the audience as much as any other drum corps. It's not just a Cadet issue that everyone makes it out to be.
  17. Yeah but you have to remember it's toy soldier straightleg and a show without a ballad. There isn't a slow part of the show to recuperate some energy.
  18. In my opinon 2003 Cadets, is the cleanest post 1983 show I've seen. I love 2003 Cadets, it was out of it's time period but I loved it. 2003 over 2006 for me. 2003 Cadets, according to some friends that marched there, rivals 2005 in percussion.
  19. So I flipped out with the All-Access DVDs that I got over the summer for the first time. This is some awesome stuff! A day to day overview of the drum corps and the status of the corps. I'm sure it's great to have such an extensive daily coverage years later when you look back on these days. I say every corps should have one of these!
  20. Nah don't worry about it it's DCP, drum corps world war I everyday through passages of misinterpretation. We're all used to it, but it's still a party.
  21. i was talking lightly... :P this is when you blush
  22. i don't think you understand how things work here. it's often known that drum majors are almost always very very attractive. you must have a butt to compliment that uniform that shows it very well, when your arse is hanging waving in front of 30,000 people. don't deny it drum majors are almost always very hot.
