  1. I think the Cadets would be all set but the rest of DCI...not too sure about.
  2. On the DVD I bought the audio and visual for Madison's closer are both blocked.
  3. How can DCI sell a product that's been butchered like the 2011 DCI Championships DVD has been? At $100.00 a pop and to have parts of the shows blacked out?
  4. Someone mentioned Miami in 83. Yes, that was a bad place all around. Not a good choice by DCI. One of my favorites for sound has to be the old Manning Bowl in Lynn Ma. It was magical. :)
  5. Glad I am not the only one feeling the squeeze. Yeah, Madison was a problem for me too back in 06. My wife and I were both squeezed to the point that we just left our 50 yard line seats and went over to the 20 where there were empty seats and we could breath. Not a great view but what can you do? I've found that buying an extra seat didn't help.
  6. I know every seat counts when selling tickets for corps shows But I have a bit of a problem with the shows at local stadiums. These seats are always benches which in and of itself is ok with me. What bothers me is that they are not numbered with big people in mind. My wife and I go to a few local shows a year in the New England/Boston area and we are not big people but we do find ourselves being squeezed in our seats by those who are big. At the Beanpot Invitational in Lynn, Ma. I had the end seat on the bench but by the time everyone took their seats half of my keister had no seating under it. I'm just wondering if anyone else finds this to be a problem as well. One idea is to sell on less ticket per row to leave room for expansion but that means less revenue for the hosting corps. I have no problem with seats at finals or a big regional shows like Atlanta in the domes as they have the nice individual seats and plenty of leg room at least for me and the wife. I just don't like sitting at a show for four hours being squeezed like a lemon in a juicer. Any thoughts or idea's?
  7. Saw my first indoor show this summer at the Georgia Dome. It was pretty hot and humid outside and I was plenty glad the Dome was a cool 68 degrees. I think the lighting is somewhat strange inside not to mention the sound issues but does anyone think the lighting is off as well? Overall I think it's probably best for everyone involved to go indoors when able to especially for the big regional shows and chanpionships. too much money at stake for everyone. Who wants to travel from Boston or California to Atlanta or Indy only to have it rain? I don't.
  8. I have noticed this as well with the Lawrence shows. Marching band is pretty dead in Massachusetts for one. As for me I have two kids who are now college age and I subjected them to many drum corps shows over the years -even finals when it came to Foxboro/Providence. To be honest (my kids) just didn't catch the Drum Corps bug so to speak like I did when I was a kid. Growing up in Boston every church parish had a drum corps or a CYO Band. The summers were spent competing. It just doesn't seem like a very popular medium here in the Boston and Massachusetts area.
  9. So glad to see the Mighty Bridgemen Back this year. I wore my Bridgemen T Shirt to Finals In madison and got a lot of positive comments about it. I also think that the Bridgemen style of comedy is missing from today's drum corps. Also let's not forget the Velvet Knights!!! They had a fun show as well. AMEN!!!!
