  1. haha its a thought but i think we could do it without casualties Rick Tabor
  2. Speaking of Dennis Delucia, you all know he is currently involved with the Bayonne Bridgemen Alumni as the show coordinator and naturally drum caption head.....If you want to learn from one of the Best EVER now is your chance....Nov 8th and 9th in Bayonne.....he can teach you what you dont know and tweak what you do know......and the best part is that you can become a member of a drumcorp legend !!!!!!! Stop on by ....you wont regret it one bit... Rick Tabor
  3. Ahhhh Piper you mean the "faint"......to answer your question I dont know lol its a game time decision LOL
  4. bump cause i dont want some of you to miss this offer
  5. Attention Drummers and Pit People !!!!!!!! I've been talking about the horn section for the past few posts, and now i want to talk a little about the section that means the whole world to me, the DRUMLINE.....we're a nice blend of young and not so young drummers with the same mind set, and that is to play some nice parts. The snareline has some DCI and DCA individual champs marching, and the quint section plays like it can be in competition..... Under the watchful eyes and ears of Dennis Delucia and Bob Dubinsky with Ron Dolce as the pit instructor the Bridgemen has alot to offer all you drummers out there..... If you want to keep you chops up ? come on down. If you want to play some serious parts? come on down. To be in a Delucia drumline is something that every drummer should experience at least one season in his/her drumming career...the things yoiu will learn from Dennis and Dubie you cant put a price on....The Bridgemen drumline was a three (3) time winner of the high drum throphy consecutively, so we dont take drumming lightly.......with that being said all you age outs out there wont be losing a beat coming down to the Bridgemen....... Well, I hope some of you out there will consider my invitation and check out the Bridgemen drumline. I know you wont regret it, and probably learn alot to boot. I know there is alot of great drum instructor out there, but i've been with Dennis since 1977 and personally i wouldnt be in a drumline, competitive or not if he were not the caption head. Come on down in Nov if ya can and check it out......look for a tall guy playing bass (dont know which one yet) and say hello !!!!! Rick Tabor
  6. Very funny Piper lol, Those days are over "I think lol" the only thing the Bridgemen are trying to do now a days is to put the best corp on the field that we can and give all the DCI and DCA crowds the show of the evening..... in our own special way.... With all the aged out talent out there, Im just offering an opportunity to all of them to march with a drumcorp legend. We all have lives after drumcorps and still the fire may burns for alot of ex-corp members ( it did for me ), the Bridgemen offers a way to put out that fire with a quality drumcorps experience. We still get all hyped up before a performance just like we were competing, but its nice to know we're not being judged and we can leave it all on the field for the crowd !!!!!! Rick Tabor
  7. Hey Pinwiz, Man thats cool, to each his/her own. Its people like you that Im reaching out to by the way.....I know you want to compete but there may be others like you out there that dont want to compete but would like to just perform and entertaintain the crowds and thats why I put this thread out on DCP. I hope one day you get the chance to compete and feel that rush again, and thanks for your post.... Rick Tabor
  8. OK Gang, After seeing how many people are looking at this thread (and im happy you are), let me sweetin the pot a little with one word "Pagliacci", let me also add that its the full version of the Bridgemen hit........ now does that help some of you horn players make up your mind ? Drummers, Dennis Delucia is writing some sweet parts to this tune, come on down and see and play for yourself, its all about the groove. Thats all im gonna tell ya til november.....hey i have an idea...come on down in november and hear Pagliacci live and in person !!!!!! The hornline knows the song already heck they played it at the open house !!!!! man for the first time played it rocked.... !!!! One of my buddies in the contra section (CBA) asked me to send out an invite to contra players that want to come down . The guys and gals want to go out with i dont know how many contras this year.....so there it is.....this section is tight, and gets tighter with each practice.....but take that all with a grain of salt cause im a drummer and what do we know about the horn section LOLOL See you all soon Rick Tabor (drumline) lol
  9. I hear ya......but the invite is always open to you so if your ever in the area and the corp is practicing, stop by and say hello... Rick Tabor
  10. Why would I start this thread in an alumni forum when its the recent DCI age outs that I want to offer the invitation too. The Bridgemen are not a DCA corp....we were a DCI corp and thats why the thread is here so our age out brothers and sisters can read it and maybe come down and check us out and maybe join the corp....DCA corps bust their butts as do DCI corps and this thread is to focus on performing without the extream time commitment that would be required in a competing DCA corp. So louie...lighten up and go to a different thread if ya dont like this one.....its not harming anyone... Thanks Rick Tabor PS you can come check us out if ya want !!!!!
  11. Because the corp and its members dont want to compete.....we want to have the drumcorp experience without having the stress of competing....been there and done that (most of the membership at least). Some of our members sharpen their skills and go try out for DCI and DCA corps and are always welcome back to the Bridgemen once they age out or dont want to compete anymore... and besides with the way the corps of today go out there and do their thing WOW its amazing what they do....and we do what we do and love it .....and we hope to give the audience and the other corps a look at drumcorps from the 70"s and 80"s and do it well..... I hope this answers your question.... Rick Tabor
  12. notelvis whats up?thats a true statement you just made....i know everybody has a style that they like the best, heck i was in a cadet corp when i started...strict rules, tough practices, the whole thing...than i went to the muchacho's and absolutly loved it, when they started having problems, i moved on to the Bridgemen, maaaan that was the best drumcorp move i ever made... The Bridgemen style suits me the best....you have to be good to pull off all the things we did and make it look easy..and thats what the alumni corp is trying to do....being a little different, entertain, going for the standing O's and hopefully giving the audience a blast from the past......We're not trying to compete with anyone...all we want to do is perform and have a blast doing it....when we practice the corp puts in 100% with the little time we have together...as i stated before, this years show is going to be the BEST the corp put out thus far......NO JOKE ! Come on down in Nov and see what I mean....you dont have to join....but you just might :) we are one big family looking to expand........and you can be part of something special... Think it over !!!!! Rick Tabor
  13. Well gang the first rehearsal is in the record books for the up coming season..... Man was it great getting back into the swing of things. There were many new faces in Bayonne Sat at the open house....some joined and some are thinking really hard about it...between you and me i think they will be back in November for rehearsal..... One thing is certain, the hornline is going to get a workout this season, the Bridgemen are putting "Spanish Dreams" back on the field !!!!!! yep you read it right.... the corp is super hyped for the challenge. Again the invite is still out there for any horn player, drummer, and color guard age outs that still want to perform !!!! check the web site out "Bridgemen.com" and check out the pics or maybe contact the director George Lavelle with some questions you may have. See you all in Bayonne in November..... Rick
  14. LOL good question but we bagged the slings years ago.....we're on the snare harness now.....and we played "In the Stone" for the past few seasons already....this season promises to be the best we put on the field since our return !!!!!! If you live in the area and can come down, do so, I think you would have a blast..... Rick
  15. come on down to Bayonne Tomorrow Oct 11th !!!!!!!!!!
  16. Hello all, Well its getting to that time of year again and guess what? your over-age but still want to march but you know you dont have the time to put into a competing Drum Corp.....or the cash for that matter.....well I have an offer for you !!!! 2009 Marks the 5th ammiversary of the return of the Bridgemen to the world of Drum Corps, and i want to personally invite all age outs to our open house on SATURDAY OCTOBER 11TH 2008 WHERE? ST ANDREWS SCHOOL LOCATED @ 4TH STREET AND BROADWAY IN GOOD OLE BAYONNE, NEW JERSEY........ TIME : 12 NOON This years show is going to be the best that the Bridgemen put on the field thus far. The staff is world class and the people are some of the nicest in Drum Corps..... and no pressure of competition !!!!! I know its fun and all but this is a whole new world :) and when was the last time you had a standing O after almost every song finished that you played? Lets not forget the uniform....some of our members thought they would never have the opportunity to wear one after the corp broke up back in the day......now they enjoy the full Bridgemen experience !!!!!! So in closing, i just want to invite you all to Bayonne and check us out.... it just might be what your looking for !!!! HYPE Rick Tabor
