  1. I hope SCV as an org can get it pulled together. Speaking from experience, once you lose your non-profit status, you really are in a pickle. Found all these fun things out the hard way after someone lost this before taking over. Not ONLY the non-profit but the liquor license as well. And that was a fairly small potatoes thing. Takes a a lot of people with a certain skill set for an org this large.
  2. Never have an issue with your content only the context. Sorry to hear that. Many people don't seek help.

  4. I mean, it would break my heart if DCI were moved to another city with a dome like Las Vegas or something...
  5. Prob makes more a difference for those playing football (as it should).
  6. AI would (ideally) be impartial. It would only perceive what it sees and experiences. I think just having AI as an experiment would be interesting. Also justifying why it scored what it did.
  7. Hey how about "Winters Coming" Game of thrones?
  8. Star Wars show. You got the storm troopers already and Darth Vader. Just have the horn line do a rifle (blaster) toss and miss catching every one.
  9. Sorry, have to disagree. YES the tic system was subjective but nearly as so now. EVERYTHING is based on what is going through their little heads now. At least on the tape you could HEAR the tic. My problem today is the sheer amount of un-judgable content that will be solely based on what a judge thinks or worse assumes. Personally I like the build up tear down method best. A mix of both that was only briefly done. What the activity needs, IMHO are compulsories like ice skating used to have. Minimum ensemble playing etc. Marching and playing; like more credit given to those marching AND playing while playing a hard lick.
  10. At this point I think having AI judge wouldn't be a bad thing.
  11. I think part of the problem is giving credit for non-accomplishment and only going off show design. Shows need to be judged for what is on the field and not what it is supposed to be or will be. I would also see where and who is training the judges.
  12. Actually the music that would fit more would be Battlestar Galactica. 🙂
  13. Oh I didn't see that. I can see Regiment in 5th. Going to take a lot but it's completely doable. Phantom didn't have the drill tearing the others had. We will see.
  14. The only use I could see (til the end) was making the field look cluttered and making them look have 0 to 0 field field presence. BD wins with a lot of tight 2 step interval blocks, that are INCREDIBLY easy to clean and look clean. They do this while spreading the guard out. I think they aren't going to be beat this year, they are that good. They are very smart in show design. Masters of something look more than it actually is. And, let's be honest their soloists are just amazing this year..well about every year. Their program is consistent and strong and actually great to watch and listen to. What more do you want?
  15. Basics before body. BD gets this. Madison used to. The amount of sloppy forms and feet in the top 15 was shocking. IMHO Crown and BD were locked in.
  16. Honestly, I think they should pull the capes off the uniforms and do a full uniform run through to see if the visual cleans up. I mean at this point why not look at it?
  17. Bloo's guard unis were amazing..the corps "hippie camo" costumes/uniform were just not good (being nice) for all the body they were putting into the show. People REALLY need to take note at what BD does in regards to this. They actually make the form, pause so you can see it CLEARLY defined THEN do body. Everyone else is in a hurry to be blobs.
  18. Proud of Regiment this year. Strong year for drum corps. They can still move up but if they don't still an incredible year. Congrats members and staff!
