I still can't figure out why they just don't throw in the towel. That is the higher ground right now. The healing move to show they have a heart and are big enough to admit they overacted. The MM's over at Reddit are just as outraged as DCP. The kids get their point across in a very visual way especially these kids and the graphics they created today will be around for a while. That's why lemons make good lemonade dci needs some good lemonade right now.

Correct, In social justice, it does not matter how the majority rules. Radio Stations polled about "Baby It's Cold Outside" 94% didn't think it was an issue, but the 6% was able to ban the song. In this case, it does not matter if anyone outside dci thought it was offensive, they did and in turn shot themselves in the foot. Social Justice works! Move on nothing to see here. .

Nailed it. The way it's going with the MMs just as outraged as DCP today. The downsizing will be forced on dci by the MMs. They hold dci's future in their hands. nothing else matters. I side with them.

If & when the MMs begin to lose interest move onto other things then the activity will die a slow death. The lack of interest of dci's most loyal fans, (heck they don't want us around anyway) will be seen as a good thing by dci. They have a renewable resource called HS kids they don't get old. Dci does not need us old farts. The MMs have always been what makes this activity so great. Their actions will determine the fate of dci and a bunch of them on Reddit are fired up today. This is a high price to pay for social justice. I fail to see the greater good????

Correct. The time it takes to transfer director ties takes them past the 2019 season. I did see some talk on Reddit that they will not be in SA 2019 but may head west. No directors went nearly as far as RB not by a long shot. But it still takes time for the transfer to occur We usually find out in the spring that a director is moving on, so the corps probably knew in September. So doing in on the fly is painful even in Sound Sport

Yes BRASSO your are correct a "working relationship" an ice breaker opens the door for one on one contact down the road. It's so important to make sure your posts are clear and concise these days (everything I am not but improving). This is exactly what this thread is about. Clear & concise transfer of what you are trying to accomplish from your mind to the words. Making sure there are not any unintended, undetectable meanings, hidden landmines that could alter your life. When I thought about relationships, I am retired personal came to mind and sent the wrong message. It has been said on DCP before "were all a few words away from being fired". I would be careful to characterize a young lady just because of her profession, as someone not to build a relationship with. Look one day we love her and the next day we are putting a straight arm in her face. This is PR 101, businesses allow reporters to attend their company functions to do just that, build relationships. They attend conferences that include meetings, exhibits and dinners. Usually, a PR person is assigned the duty of sticking with the reporter so they stay focusing on the positives. A relationship forms call it a business relationship, an acquaintance that you just broke bread with at a dci sponsored gathering Saturday. Then this comes up now you can pick up the phone and have a conversation. What I get back on DCP is that dci is not a normal business and needs to reinvent a new wheel everytime a real Wrold situation presents itself.

So true there are three elephants in the room. 1 these individuals used their influence to use social media to groom the survivors while working for some of the same schools that dci uses for the tour. dci needs the schools so they can't say well they came from your schools so you enabled this to occur in the first place. 2 these individuals duck under your radar right now. How was dci to know? That is being addressed but will take time for these databases to become available to dci. 3 Even with the best efforts of the schools & dci some individuals will use electronic means to hide their misdeeds and get hired anyway. This is not insurmountable but it takes all involved totally focused on health & safety. Dci is putting out a real effort and totally understands the issues. It's a shame the focus in the Press dregs up this stuff because dci is all over it going forward. Right now dci needs someone to handle damage control that can look past the spur of the moment tirades from powerful people on the BOD or G7 corps directions. Lays out an action plan that minimizes the damages and not take actions that dreg up all the past to get rid of a simple Reddit post.

Because it is commonplace for any business to have a personal relationship with the press. They are invited as guests to all kinds of company functions. In the real world, it is called a press pass it gets them into conferences/meetings all over the world except dci events.

If I could I would clean her computer screen make it look really pretty so when the "Statement" arrives she can go right to work read into it want she wants, be totally fair in her response to the public even if dci left some dangling participles that could have been addressed by personal contact before her publication. That makes life a little easier at dci & Arsenal because each side had their say.

None but they don't need prodding from posters on DCP to make that happen. I did a lot of soul searching and having Fred on board is a really bad thing from the perception standpoint. However it's not fair to take it out on the whole corp. We now know how hard it is for even an aspiring Sound Sport director to dissolve himself from the team. It must be twice as tough to remove WC director they are not all RB's but do have personal exposure that may take months to work out and what are the Crossmen or any WC Corp to do go inactive, nobody wants that.

The request was for a personal interview she is getting a statement. Dci is sending a message that they don't want to strike up a personal relationship with her, why. Is that a demonstration of transparency, full disclose who is on the receiving end of all these fancy terms if not the press?

Like I said sometimes your emotions take over words are used for effect at the moment that comes back at you later, with regret. However, at this point dci should be looking at the comment with concern and make a point in their statement to call that out. I am sure they will.

How is a statement not dancing around the issue? How is a statement providing transparency, full disclosure all the things that define dci in their new direction? This is keeping the press at bay she requested an interview and was shot down. Instead of building a personal relationship with Tricia they are keeping her from asking questions that may help mold her story in dci's favor. Statements are twisted and construed to intentionally/unintentionally and miss the point totally.
