  1. If there as good as you say they are then great job. I saw them at the friends and family show and it was pretty rough but they have obviously put in a ton of work since then. I hate it that two of their best years came after I had to leave for a while(2004) and after I age out(2007). Oh well, congrats Teal Sound and Im glad my work payed off.
  2. Ok, so I haven't marched for two years now and I'm back for my age-out. I was looking at the schedule and noticed hat there are two days in-between prelims and semi's. Why is that? Also, what was wrong with the old schedule of Monday through Wendesday? I remember the change being made in 2003 to a different schedule, but peonally I hate the idea of Grand-Finals being in the morning. If the change was made to get more attendance for the 2/3 crowd is it working? I can't think of too many people who would wake up extra early to see 2/3 Grands, or would spend the extra money on another ticket. I've been out of it for too long.
  3. I remember they did an exhibition in 2002, because Revo did theirs and then on the loud speaker they said the Division 2 Champion won't perform in exhibition because they are competing in Finals.

  6. Don't let a staff overhaul fool you, in 2004 there was a large turnover and look what it did for them. ALL HAIL!
  7. For me it's how emotional the music is. I think the Cadets did a great job choosing this show because the music is perfect for a field. Think about it, its the music of a Disney Fireworks show, it was composed to be exciting and pull at the heart and the Cadets played the #### out of it and thats what did it for me.
  8. I would go with simply for the depth you can get with 5 basses. As a writer I find working with 5 basses is very optimal becasue it works well with runs and when using the basses for add-in cresecendo effects 5 basses is especially effective, especially when tuned right.
  9. Star 91/93, Magic 97, Cadets 2000, Cavies 2000, SCV 87, Phantom 03, Madison 95.
  10. Scott does help write but I'm sure Dave Glydd does most of it, and I believe he's been writing the books for awhile. I'm not trying to flame or start an arguement, just saying.
  11. Dude, that bassline is up there every year. Pick a year from the past five years and you've got the best bassline in DCI. Scott doesn't write, Dave Glyde does.
  12. I know this is bottom bas girls, but...... The fine female in Spirits tenor line last year was I nice new addition the the DCI drumline world.
  13. I agree, very good drumming. Its cool to hear each track and hear the evolution of style and the gradual inclusion of the pit. I have to say though, some of those hornlines sounded bad. I'm not trying to bag on old drum corps but hearing the arguments about the old days, I don't se where it comes from, once you started to hit the late 80's and 90's it improved greatly, but before that some of it is downright unmusical.
  14. I'm showing my youth here but the guy that comes to mind who can scream and play a really gorgeous ballad would be the BD guy from 2000(maybe before that)-2001. Good tone, could scream, and played some nice mid range and ballad stuff.
