New York Skyliners 1st Camp Information
FRANK SKYAD07 replied to Sean1's topic in DCA - All-Age Corps Discussions
Can't wait to get the full program rolling this weekend. I have been listening to the midis of the first two parts of the show and they are great. They have the true New York Sound in a very exciting and current style. Mr. Poulan has caught the essence of SKY in a truly unique production. "Murder in Manhattan" is absolutely the best show we have had in many years. The rehearsal is open to any and all that want to stop by to sit in, but be advised that once you start to play it, you will want to spend the season with us. This year's show is going to be the beginings of a new and exciting time in the SKYLINERS long history. Join us as we start the comeback of one of the most fan favorite drum corps of all time! -
An Open Letter to the NY Skyliners
FRANK SKYAD07 replied to drumlaw80's topic in DCA - All-Age Corps Discussions
The turn-out may have been a little light for the open house, however, those in attendance played through most of the opener of “Murder in Manhattan”. I have played SKYLINER music from the 50’S, 60’s, 70’s, 80’s and 90’s either as a performer in the competitive corps or as an alumni and I have to say this years’ show is quintessential SKYLINERS. The opening of the show brings back the sounds of the SKYLINERS horn line with a vengeance. It is classic SKYLINERS in every way! I would definitely recommend that you stop by the next rehearsal on Sunday, December 17, 2006 at 11:00 AM at the Dover Post to experience the sound for yourself. If you ever considered being a SKYLINER, or returning for ONE MORE YEAR!!!, believe me…THIS IS THE YEAR. Come be part of the resurgence of the Sounds, the Sights, and the Attitude that is NEW YORK! -

SKYLINERS OPEN HOUSE!! Ok you had the chance to visit most of the other DCA corps open houses. Now is the time to stop by at SKY. This Sunday, December 3rd, at the Dover AL Post 11:00 AM to 4:00 PM. Stop in and say hello and play or just listen to the original Key Poulan opener for 2007. This is going to be the most exciting SKYLINER Corps to hit the field in many years, don't miss out on the first opportunity to be a part of the rebirth of one of the most beloved drum corps in history. -
Just to clarify our show a little: "Murder in Manhattan" is an original show by award winning composer Key Poulan. To give "Murder in Manhattan" a contemporary competitive edge, the 2007 Design Team has decided to infuse it with some of the greatest music ever played by the New York Skyliners, such as Elks Parade, Harlem Nocturne, Little Old New York and other selections.

We are absolutely thrilled to have an arranger of the caliber of Key with the Skyliners. We have always been known for our big horn sound and with Key arranging this year, you can be assured that the SKYLINER sound will be back. Stop by and check us out, all are welcome, the doors will always be open (so that we don't damage the ceiling!!) 2007 SKYLINERS will once again be the Corps everyone knows and loves! -
