They have it separated now between show music and concert music... I can't wait to see it... I love Candide

They didn't announce, but many people have found song selections on their website... if you search around there for a bit you'll find it.

I think this would make a lot of alumni mad. It most likely would not be as successful as the original Star of Indiana and I'm willing to be that a lot of people would feel that putting anything less on the field would be a disgrace. However, it does seem that the Blue Stars are working at becoming Blue Star of Indiana. They already have a lot of Star alumni working with them. They even have Donnie VanDoren working with them. Apparently a lot of Blue Stars alums aren't too happy about some of the changes being made but for the corps, if they want to be more competitive than they need to do what they think is best. -Weedy

I just thought I'd throw it in there that Spirit played Yamaha in '06 before switching to King in '07, which, by the way, they are selling after this season... you should check them out as they're going for a very good price. -Weedy

I had heard about the 2 drumline thing... was the plan to have 2 FULL lines or just split up the sections in half and have them have different color drums?

I don't think Phantom will use amped voice either. I can't wait to see this show.

Wayne Bergeron played lead for The Boss in 1986 and can be heard on Body and Soul, BBN, Brass Attitude, and The One and Only Maynard Ferguson. He is a great player and an awesome guy. -Weedy

I'm with you on this one bro. Last season we heard a lot of rude comments from Academy when they came in 13th on quarterfinals night. It seems to me that some of the members acted like they WERE the Blue Devils. It seems like that was the general attitude of the corps. However, I think that this will be a high quality, entertaining show and I WILL want to see the DVD. -Weedy

Just for argument's sake... I think that one could argue that the jazz run and other techniques are marching techniques. Probably a lot of people thought that originally when drum corps went to "corps style marching" from traditional style high stepping, some people said that the roll step technique was not marching... that technique got named corps style marching. Corps style marching has now evolved into incorporating the jazz run etc... So what do we call it now? Progressive corps style marching? New age corps style marching? I won't say this is my belief or that I oppose this position... but it could make for a nice debate. -Weedy

I watched every Madison show from 1974 to 2001 last night and this morning. JCSS is probably the most fun show for me to watch. It's fun watching the shows and recognizing people during the videos. This season is going to be awesome no matter where championships end up being. -Weedy

oooo... Linda this just got interesting with your reasoning. I believe that the Mayan calendar ends in 2012 because that's when a new "era" or "cycle" begins... The reasoning behind this is something like the Earth is round so the cycles go in circles. 2012 in the Mayan calendar is like a 12:00 on a clock... it marks the beginning of the next cycle. So maybe... we win in 2012 thus beginning the new era of drum corps featuring recognizable melodies in the hornline which people will find themselves humming after shows, screaming sopranos, and the rebirth of corps around North America... I'm liking the Mayans more and more.

I heard a rumor that something was already booked in Lucas Oil for one of the years (2012 is the year I was told) and that we were possible going to move back to Camp Randall for that one year... does any one know anything about how this rumor got started? If that were true, that would be perfect for me aging out with the Madison Scouts at Camp Randall. -Weedy

Hey someone's got to hold down the fort right? Just not many people do it as long as Dann did ... seriously though... our foundation sopranos are cool about it , and the way Tacco set up the section, there's some of those guys on third that could play lead, but Tacco tried to spread the talent throughout each part so that not one part is stacked more than another. -Weedy

The next camp is April 4-6. I hope you can come check us out again... I've heard that we'll have more music. Those CD's are awesome! I've got them in now at Kelly's house. -Weedy

Hey Andy, thanks for coming to check us out and thanks for the CD's! Some of the guys and I listened to them before lights out. Camp was a lot of fun. Setting drill was sweet. I can't wait to get the rest of the show. It's one of those shows that you don't have to worry about not enjoying getting up early to work on. Bring it -Weedy

I'm more excited about this camp than usual. Looks like I'm actually going to get to see some of Madison before camp since I flew in last night. D.M. Daniel is going to show me around and help me find some cheese. I hope a lot of people come out for ensemble on SATURDAY. -Weedy

According to the Mayan calendar, this cycle of thw rold ends in 2012 thus beginning a new cycle (I believe that's the theory because the world is round)... in this cycle of the world, drum corps will be plentiful and no corps will play just for the judges.
