  1. Mighty St. Joe's is looking forward to being a part of this show. Looks like it's shaping up to be a really great night of Drum Corps entertainment!
  2. Excellent rehearsal today, still looking for horn players especially lower brass, but openings in all sections. Next rehearsal Sunday 01/11/2015. Stop and see the corps!
  3. As many of you already know back in 1991 a group of former members of the famed Mighty St. Joe's Junior Corps, Batavia NY, along with several other drum corps nuts got together and started Mighty St. Joe's Alumni Drum & Bugle Corps. Their goal was to perform on a non-competitive basis and keep the "good, old times" of drum corps alive. Today, as 2015 arrives, the corps is proudly preparing for it's 25th consecutive year. Over the years MSJ has experienced and survived the true test of time. Even though over 300 drum corps' fanatics have come and gone through the corps' swinging doors many are still working hard at keeping this activity alive and well in WNY. If any of you out there still have the desire to test your chops, play an indoor/outdoor concert to thousands of appreciative fans, march a parade and see all the smiles or just be involved with one of the few real drum corps' experiences left in the Rochester/WNY area visit us on the web at www.mightystjoes.com and/or come out to Leroy NY for a rehearsal soon. You certainly won't regret it! Help keep the memories alive, be a part of this great drum and bugle corps today... openings in all sections!
  4. Add Mighty St. Joe's Alumni Drum & Bugle Corps to the show!!!
  5. Our condolences to the Skyliner and Swan Families from all of us at Mighty St. Joe's.
  6. Congratulations to all of the participants in this year's DCA Finals' weekend. What we all do in this sport of Drum Corps is experienced by so few throughout the world. The art of music sees very few celebrations like this event. A special congrats to the Ghost Riders from Part Unknown for your DCA Mini-Corps Championship. You are a special group that goes over and above to make this circuit so exciting. Another special congrats to the White Sabers, Dansville NY for your 1st ever DCA Class A Championship. Not sure you will remember but most of us knew this was your year way back when you performed at The MSJ Classic way back in April. This must feel so rewarding for all the hard work that goes into preparing for this weekend. And last a very special congratulations to Donny Allen, your efforts and intensity go unmatched by anyone in this sport. You have come so far and I am proud to say I am your friend. Best to you in everything you continue to pursue in all factions of your life. You're the man DA!
  7. It certainly is a shame that Ghost Riders will not have the opportunity to play their encore performance for the entire Drum Corps crowd at the finals. With all due respect to the Marine Drum and Bugle Corps it would have been nice to allow GR one more chance to show off their stuff, especially after all the work they put into dethroning the perennial Mini-Corps Champs, Star United.
  8. Good morning ALL! Let me first extend Mighty St. Joe's best wishes to all of the corps and their members who will be participating in this morning's Alumni Spectacular. Play like "Rock Stars"! Unfortunately MSJ is not in the line-up this year for the 1st time since the show began. Looking forward to returning to the show line-up in 2014. Not to be concerned, I feel like this was a mutual agreement and for the most part it was in the best interest of all of our members. The bitter/sweet part comes from not being in Annapolis for all of the great things that have occurred over the past few days for WNY drum corps; Ghost Riders take Mini-Corps Championship, White Sabers score highest in Class A Prelims, and The Empire Statesmen go "balls to the wall" and make a big move in Open Class Prelims. And there's more to come today. Just want to let everyone know Drum Corps is alive and well here in WNY. Mighty St. Joe's is alive and well here in WNY. Again best wishes to all. See you here in Rochester in 2014... Go WS! GO Empire! Great job Annapolis and DCA!!!
  9. Good afternoon Kevin, enjoying your play-by-play of the prelims, as always. Over the years you have always been very generous with describing Mighty St. Joe's and I always share your ply-by-play with the corps. Just wondering... as you know MSJ will not be at the Alumni Spectacular this year for various reasons. Just want to say we will all miss the show tomorrow. Any way you could mention us?

  11. After 23 years of leadership, Bob "Sully" Sullivan has retired as Corps Director of Mighty St. Joe's. For years Sully has been the heart and soul of the corps filling many management positions while also being the Corps Director. The entire corps would like to express their heart-felt appreciation for everything Sully has done over the years to create a place for all of us to come and play, entertain and have fun doing what we all love to do so much. As MSJ opens its 2013 Season, the corps announces the creation of a new Management Team that will step up to take the corps into the future. Bob Wielgosz will be stepping into the Corps Director position, he has been with the corps for 8 years as a snare drummer, VP of the Board of Directors, PR & Communication and most recently the Assistant Corps Director. Vic Genberg will be taking on the Assistant Corps Director position while Joel Wilson will accept the responsibilities as Business Manager. Several others have volunteered to take on duties that we have been so accustomed to Sully doing but it will take the entire corps to make this transition work. The corps is looking forward to another successful year, our 24th, in the alumni circuit and our schedule is filling up quite nicely. Our 1st rehearsal is this Sunday, Nov.4th and there is plenty of room for anyone who is interested in playing with the corps. Come out and join MSJ as we move forward into another chapter of the corps. Visit us at www.mightystjoes.com for contact information...
  12. TURN UP THE HEAT... IT'S SHOW TIME!!! Hope to be playing to a big audience tonight, so come out and enjoy the show.
