  1. When I watched the finals feed, watching Reading first, and then C2, I thought that C2 took it. But then when I watched C2 first, followed by Reading, I thought Reading took it. It was THAT close. My thoughts remain that Reading had the more substansive program. C2's package was just a bit tighter by finals weekend.
  2. The real significance of Readng's record setting run is not how good THEY have become, but how great the rest of the circuit has become as a result.
  3. And here I absolutely disagree. Cabs did not have the vehicle to win in 2014. Bucs did. It took the Bucs until Big Sounds and championship weekend to tune their vehicle, but once they did, it was over. This year I still feel that Bucs had the vehicle over C2, although Bucs program seemed to have less physical demand than in recent years (a fact that helped their horn score immeasurably). C2 seemed to have their vehicle more in tune this year which allowed them to overtake the Bucs on the final weekend. C2's late season surge was very reminiscent of the Sunrisers during a few of their championship runs, most notably 1982 and 1987. But due to the very short competitive seasons in the modern DCA, I did not think that such late season runs were realistic with weekend only drum corps. I stand corrected.
  4. i absolutely agree. I saw both corps early on in Nazareth. I was very impressed by Reading, and left the show with the impression that only God would beat the Bucs this year. C2...not so much. So considering that C2 was close to 2 points behind just one week ago, I was a bit surprised at the results at Rochester. But after seeing the videos, C2 took it...no doubt.
  5. Only problem is that by next week Monday's car is not fast enough. Sort of like visual effect scores. One week they are patting you on the back, the next week they are slapping you in the face.
  6. Wow, Fusion falling to 6th place?! Who would have thunk it?
  7. My guess is that Cabs will finish the season ahead of both Fusion and C2. Bucs are a lock.
  8. It is looking legitimately like the best top six ever!
  9. My guess is that the Buc's number will be approximately 1.5 to 2 points over whatever the previous high number is at that point. It they spread the field by anything over two points, the race for second place begins.
  10. Point well taken, however with Bucs, MBI, Cabs, CV, C2 and Fusion, there will definitely be a VERY fine senior corps finding themselves in 6th place at DCA.
  11. And nothing against Fusion... saw them in Nazareth and they were fine indeed, however by DCA, Cabs will pull ahead of them. Top 5 will be a VERY crowded place this year, and either Fusion or C2 will not be making the party.
  12. I will give you an answer right now. Head to head, Fusion are not beating the Bucs.
  13. I was at the Nazareth show, and while it was VERY hot and humid, all corps put on great performances! There were folks sitting in the audience being tended to for heat exhaustion, so I can't imagine what it was like in full uniform!
  14. Yes, it is definitely great to see Sunrisers appearing to have a solid lock on DCA once again! Their Diamonds are a Girl's Best Friend segment was a very entertaining and out of the box choice which was reminiscent of similar Sunriser selections from years past such as Come follow the Band, Alexander's Ragtime Band, etc. The main ingredient for Sun right now is perhaps a few more bodies across the board. They have a very young, talented, and well coached group!
  15. Fusion Corps was very good, but the Cabs have the best corps I've seen them have for the past few years. Had Cabs over Fusion. As far as the Bucs...it is as over as I've ever seen it this early in the season.
  16. That being said, the Bucs have the best DCA corps I have ever seen at this point in the season.
  17. Just got back from Nazareth but left before C2. Cabs will definitely be in the over 80 club after this evening.
  18. We wouldn't want to subject the corps to the harsh reality of competition until everyone is ready. Problem is that once everyone is ready, the best corps will still win.
  19. At the point where the corps began receiving scores.
  20. Best of luck to everyone! And as the boardwalk barkers say, "Everybody's a winner!".
  21. A clap show? Who would've thunk it? Bottom line is that the corps who are ready next week will be at the top of the standings on Labor Day. The corps who are not ready, will not.
