While I do not agree with the way everything was taken in this thread, bigdrumcorpsfan1 is fairly accurate in their information. I was a member of the 2007 and 2008 Memphis Sound Front Line but had to resign so that I could work this summer for college. They are right in the information that all of the visual staff and all but 1 of the percussion staff has indeed resigned. Whether or not a new staff has indeed been lined up and put in place, I do not know if it is true. Yes, the corps has been through many identical problems in past years, but the situation surrounding and more accurately the cause behind it is MUCH more different.
I do agree with many posts made on this thread saying that this conversation should never have started, because it is basically trashing the corps. It is bad, bigdrumcorpsfan1 seems to be fairly accurate (while it could have been presented in a different way is another thing), and I don't feel it is my right to tell everyone everything I know of the situation. The only reason I know what I know is that I have close friendships with people who are or have been recently on the BOD, and I'm close to some of the staff members that have left, having spent all last summer with them.
Like I said, I will not go into the details, and personally I hope this whole conversation closes, because of all things, it is not helping the corps. But the only reason I posted this is to verify somethings that have been said and give evidence that I know what I'm talking about, so that someone wouldn't come back and ask for my sources.
I love the corps, and I would do anything for it that I am possibly able to do. The members there are my second family, and I hope all of this blows over and they push through and have an amazingly awesome season.
