You are wrong sir, The Empire Statesmen use G bugles in the line. The only player who has used a Bb or C instrument to my knowledge is Joey Pero... and why not, he would sound good on a garden hose. I marched Contra in 2006, they are the Dynasty 5/4 model 4 valve G bugles. In no way are those horns Bb. Like Kris said, they are some heavy SOB's... I believe something like 30 pounds or so.

Contact Gary Matzack, I think he has 1 or 3 of them in the storage shed.

Heather and I may stop by to see the corps in action... and of course let everyone see our newest son, Joshua who was born on Wednesday!

2004 Empire Statesmen I didnt see a drum corps show till 2003 when I went to watch a friend in the Statesmen... I was hooked!

Kris, Do you homework this week so you have your spot Great weekend, cant wait till I can hopefully get back there to spend time with the family and hear more of this amazing music because I cant stop singing it!!

I hope you keep the Kanstuls... IMHO I think they are the best horns out there for G's. But, people on here will TEAR them up if you sell the Kanstuls. I know Randy Kratofil would love to buy some three valve kanstuls! I cant find his name on here, but I can send you his email if you PM me if you are selling them.

Good new for DCA IMO, hopefully they will be more reasonably priced!

I am in the process of buying a Kanstul G mello, I used it in 2008 for the season and switched near May from a Dynasty to a Kanstul. IMO, hands down the Kanstul is a better horn. It feels more open and the tuning seems to be pretty good. The balance of the horn also seems to work very well. I noticed a difference right away and fell in love with the sound it produced. I also own a Kanstul Powerbore soprano, never again will my hands touch a Dynasty Soprano.

It was my first DCI show that I ever went to. Hershey, PA in 04. I saw Crossmen, Blue Devils, and Santa Clara. SCV was easily my favorite show of the night. (I knew drum corps, was marching Empire Statesmen that summer)
