  2. Great stuff W....wish you were at every show! Love your passion and insight as well as your understanding of what goes into crafting a show and whether it's working or not. I respectfully disagree with your assessment of the Tbone as to its place in the activity. It may well add an element otherwise unachievable but then so would 24 violins....the activity I fell in love with was DRUM & BUGLE CORPS! As a traditionalist, I miss the sound and personality of of the activity that once was...the uniqueness is gone, we're now band aficionados.
  3. "Hurricanes' featured soloist, Rich Yelnick, is absolutely terrific. The guy nails everything!!! I wish more DCA corps would feature their top player(s) a bit more.. it's been one of the strengths of all-age corps for decades. For a corps that was supposed to be all but dead a few months ago... well... the Hurricanes are very much alive and kicking. I have long since learned my lesson to never count them out." Fran, your comments on Yelinek are spot on.....He's been featured as a premier soloist for the Hurcs for over thirty years, dating back to 1981! It seems amiss that the Buglers Hall of Fame hasn't taken notice of his body of work yet. The Hurricanes are alive, working hard and having fun!
  4. Hey Big John...the Hurcs have to be in there somewhere!
  5. Still checking in....too bad it's so hard to post a pic*^$##$$%$%&@@%%!!!!!!!!!!
  6. I'm pretty sure it's July 4th.....Don't go by the DCA site...it's far from accurate or complete! Barnum centers on the 4th so anything past the 6th would be way late. I just read an archived article from the Bpt. Post reporting that all 5 corps marched in the Great Street Parade that same morning.
  7. Also 1970 Barnum was July 4th....Hurcs, Sky, Bucs, Sun and Cabs
