  1. I hope to see a lot of old faces and new ones at the open house. This season will be one to remember... The return of the Long Island Sunrisers... who wouldn't want to be a part of that?
  2. Yea my family tells me about the good old days rehearsing in Floyd Bennet Feild, i guess im a couple a decades to late lol. Dont know if you been to Brooklyn recently but in Floyd Bennet Feild there is a place called Avaitor, they put rock climbing, basketball courts, hockey rinks in a set of hangers, and also have a couple of nice turf football feilds
  3. Its so cool to see something like this, I live directly accross from the Floyd Bennet American Legion post, i wish there was a corps that i could just walk accross the street to get to haha, I dont know if the people your looking for still live in brooklyn but i know there is an old timers/veterans band that rehearses on thursday nights, anyway good luck with your search
  4. Honestly weight loss just seems to come with activity, i marched with Surf last year and after the first tour since we do 2 mini tours i dropped 20 pounds, overall for the whole summer i lost 30 pounds and was in the best shape of my life, and i've only gained 5 pounds since then so i kept it off, this year im marching a top world class corp with what i think is the hardest/best work ethic, so lets see if i can actually shed 30 again, i highly doubt it cause im 5'11 and weight 190 im deff gonna drop atleast 10 And when i eat meals, i never go for seconds or the extra pb n j, just eat wat were given for lunch/dinner, breakfast i only eat a bowl of cerial and drink a half gallon of water to get me ready for the day
  5. I kno i may have not of known him, but i kno for sure that my aunts and uncles did RIP Dennis
  6. 1. I have been around drum corps my whole life my grandfather marched sky around 1948 and 2 uncles marched DCI in the 80's and i have had several aunts and uncles march with the sunrisers from the span of 1972 - 1996, and one of my uncles actually works for the DCI corps that he marched with, which will get me into answering question #2, i just auditioned and made the corps that i have been dreaming about my whole life, amps and new rules dont turn me away from the corps, i look at it as a family tradition and i love the work ethic of the corps (i pretty much grew up around it), i dont mind all the new rules anyway i think changes need to be done to keep the activity intresting, of course some stuff might be uncalled for or extreme but everything changes with time, i quite honestly would not be intrested in drum corps if it was the same as it was in the 70's, i think the activity has changed for the better, but if woodwinds are ever intorduced into the activity i will be on your side lol
  7. Hang in there Sky, cant wait to see u at mini corps and take the feild in 09!!!
  8. Yay Sun!!!! Come on people, come check out wats in store for SUN this SUNday, you will not be dissappointed!!!!
  9. Very intresting show, Glad to see you back, wish you the best of luck in 2008!!,
  10. I dont think Allentown will be going anywhere, but i can sort of understand if it were to move, look at all the other majors, there all held in much bigger venues then allentown
  11. Sunrisers 2008 staff has shaped up to be arguably one of the top staffs in DCA, All Capitions, Colorguard, Brass, Percussion, Visual. Argul has deff. come through with an amazing book also. I swear to anyone on the fence, that they will not be disappointed if they come and stick it out til the summer, only great things can be accomplished with a staff like this. Come and help keep the SUN on the rise!!! P.S. Welcome back Ben!!
  12. Cant wait to hear what Argul can do with "house of the rising sun" its not even a joke of where i march, i just would love to hear it on the feild, best of luck to you in 08!!!
  13. Simply Amazing, Sure to be an amazing horn book!!! Help start this season off the right way, come on down, pick up a horn, put on a drum, and start what is bound to be another great year for SUN!!!!!
  14. Can't wait to see my "family" next weekend Again anyone "on the fence" or anyone intrested come on down and see what the Sunrisers are all about You get to meet some great people and hopefully we'll get the chance play through some of the great, Dennis Argul's arrangements for this years show You will not be dissappointed
  15. I remember walking to the gate at Wildwood, Surfs (My) home show, raidiers were marching off, spartans were performing, but all the Div. III corps, citations, 7th regiment, spirit of newark, targets were lined up in the streets going crazy for us saying the nicest things, we got a standing ovation without even taking the feild that night, i kno it made me feel amazing and fueled us to perform one of our most energentic shows of the year, for some reason we got this type of reaction pretty much everyshow, marching to the gate was an amazing feeling, everybody was very supportive, most of the Div. II and III corps are class acts, its a possibility that i performed better because of those "other" corps, thank you
